thought my r/c addiction was bad

a full 10 mins of r/c's. This guy has to be a trust fund baby or something.... you'll see what I mean.

FG101C 01.09.2010 01:50 AM

Holy crap, I have three and think it's too many.

ZippyBasher 01.09.2010 01:51 AM

And he needs about 15 Savage Xls and 13 Jato 3.3s?? 8 8ights and about 60 others? Wtf ?! If i had that much money I'd have a better place to live LOL...

PS Like this guy^^^ 3 is enough^^^

PSS... F*CK NITRO

_paralyzed_ 01.09.2010 01:56 AM

I read all his comments. He gives 3 different stories about his income. Then at one point says he has been into r/c for 15 years, only later to say he got his first car 2 years ago. And I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice this was all shot in a basement. We can only assume it's his mom's basement. I sure hope the kudos he gets on youtube fills the hole in his life he is trying to fill. The hole normal people fill with hard work and discipline.........

sorry guys, slow night:lol:

BrianG 01.09.2010 02:04 AM

A hobby is nice, but this guy has OCD or something. Could be one of those "hoarders" you hear about on TV where they keep EVERYTHING forever, except for this guy, it's R/Cs. And why would anyone have multiple of the same vehicle? Doesn't seem like he has them purpose built much (like one on-road specific, one off-road, etc). If I didn't know better, I'd say he had all of his friends bring their cars over to make it seem like he has more. Otherwise he's just showing off. He obviously can't run all of those. I have "only" 9 cars, and was thinking about thinning the herd.

Freezebyte 01.09.2010 02:08 AM

Thank god my OCD doesn't make me do that, I can hardly keep 1 RC at a time, let alone 2 or more without constantly changing my mind. Now im once again thinking about getting a 5T or a rock crawler and selling my FLux

_paralyzed_ 01.09.2010 02:21 AM

small weiner syndrome?

hootie7159 01.09.2010 02:48 AM

damn...i only have two and thats plenty enough for me.....one for track...one for bashing....just that simple.....it's gonna be a damn shame when he realizes that brushless will beat the s**t out of ALL of those nitros....its funny when he says, "its fast as hell"...and its only nitro... lol....

e-mike 01.09.2010 03:09 AM

:gasp:seriously crazy:surprised:

PBO 01.09.2010 03:10 AM

Harold, your comments crack me up!! right on the money - too funny!!!

BP-Revo 01.09.2010 05:44 AM

Linc has like 40 doesn't he?

Shit...I have 5 now and still think that's too much...looking to bring it down to 4.

Semi Pro 01.09.2010 08:14 AM

between all the scales and different types of rc's i have around 30 of them right now, thats not bad if you consider i sold 15 of them last year and have only added 4 in 2009

maybe i have a problem, but to me its a hobby, i enjoy buy, selling and trading as much as i do driving them.

since i got into the hobby in 1990 i have owned over 100 rc cars and thats alot cheaper than the real cars 53 i have owned since 1995

thankfully my Gf enjoys the real car hobby too (we own 8 real cars right now)

mistercrash 01.09.2010 09:48 AM

I didn't see many brushless RCs in his collection. The guy's a frikkin' oiler. That's what I call nitro guys.... OILERS!

JERRY2KONE 01.09.2010 10:22 AM

Sick!!!

SICK is all that comes to mind while watching that video. Why, how, WTF. He must have like 60 vehicles stored in that place. Even if you invited a bunch of guys over from work for a party to play he still would not use half of them. That is just freaky. I would love to have a few more myself, but that is just toooooooooo much R/C to have in anyones house. Could you imagine some kid breaking in to rob his house when he turns on the lights. He would probably pass out just from the sight of those vehicles. Your right Harold. He has a huge hole in his life and also in his head. There must be over $100K worth of R/C in that one little place. Sick, just sick.

simplechamp 01.09.2010 11:27 AM

I shouldn't make judgments, but I just wonder how many of those RC's are paid for and how many are on high interest, unsecured debt.

Metallover 01.09.2010 12:02 PM

ebay scammer?

junkman 01.09.2010 12:14 PM

Not spread out all over the house, but crammed in a 12x16 room, I'm setting on about 215 or so. I'll have to give it too him to keep that many nitros going. I am down to 2 and they are on their way out. Yeah I need some more shelving, but snapped these last time is was pretty clean up there.

rabosi 01.09.2010 12:18 PM

That's crazy. There's so much I couldn't make it to the end of the video. With all those nitros it must smell nice in there. To each his own though.

jokerjustin 01.09.2010 01:17 PM

is it even possible to maintain yet run all of those cars? i dont see the need for having multiples unless its for diff purposes. ( on-road-off-road)
but hell just getting my revo to satisfy my annoying ass perfectionism is enough work

Bondonutz 01.09.2010 02:20 PM

That guys dick must be like a bellybutton, a "INNY"
Why in the hell have 10 of the same truck ? He collects them like matchbox cars ?
Nice collection but come on, really ?

I have 10 trucks and absolutely struggle to find time to maintain more than 2-3 during the week after a weekend of running and I only work PT ?

I'll bet he's a lonely guy ?

E-Revonut 01.09.2010 03:10 PM

I have 4 trucks and 2 helis at the moment. I have been into hobby grade RC for 3 years now and have had more trucks than I care to remember. Buying and selling is part of the hobby. My trucks all have their own niche though and the 2 others I want will also be different. I think this is a case of a spoiled rotten trust fund kid as mentioned before. All those Jato 3.3s where the same, savages the same, revos where pretty much all the same, etc, etc. I have an E-Maxx for bashing, RC8T for racing, CRT.5 is a jack of all trades in a smaller version, and a rc18t for anywhere fun! I plan on a Slash 4x4 or other CORR truck and a carpet car. I might even get a mini revo and get rid of the CRT.5 or keep them all but that would be my limit

RUSTY XL-5 01.09.2010 04:17 PM

Did you notice how all of them were clean? Even his polished AL chassis wasn't scratched! :oh:

brijar 01.09.2010 04:41 PM

Is it possible he owns or works for a hobby shop perhaps and just gets all of those delivered to his house before they go to the store? Or maybe that's the basement of the store and those are going to go on sale or something? They all looked way too clean to have been used more than once or twice. Gosh that's insane though! :surprised:

Brijar!!!

Bondonutz 01.09.2010 04:53 PM

Kinda makes sense, Maybe the dork buys a crap load of them and does all kinds of aftermarket installs but only drives a few and the rest are shelf queens. He did mention about 20 times that the particular truck was new and never ran. If thats the case seems like a lot of wasted money anyway you look at it ?

rabosi 01.09.2010 05:02 PM

Why not give him the benefit of the doubt. Or are we ourselves so jealous we need to cast suspicion? Let he who is without faults cast the first stone (as I duck behind some 1" plexi).

rawfuls 01.09.2010 05:14 PM

I wonder how large the pile would be if we all went in there and took apart every truck and put it into a big pile....

The next godzilla tower anyone?

BTW: Anyone notice that he has 2 parts? aka, a 10 minute video, and another 8 minute one? WTF

junkman 01.09.2010 05:16 PM

I could easily believe someone would spend a ton on them then shelve it. People collect guns, baseball cards, bugs, why not r/c. The build, or just having it to look at, is as much fun as playing with it for allot of mine. Who wants to put a bunch of time, effort, and money in one only to get dirt stuck to it from nasty nitro fuel.

suicideneil 01.09.2010 07:33 PM

All stolen goods as a result of break-ins and scams probably...

OMG1 Don't say that!!!!!!!!!

For some reason that thought is giving me cringes, deep down cringes(and not below the belt you wankers:diablo:) I mean 60+ cars heaped into one massive pile? The horror!!!!! *curls into the fetal position and gently rocks him self on the floor* It would probably be better to sell the massive pile for $5000 than to attempt to assemble them all again, It would be impossible.

Now where's my weed? I need to calm down......What are you looking at?!.........don't judge me!.........who are you to judge me?!!.....I have a "prescription"!

*pant**pant* sorry you guys had to see that.....It gets pretty crazy around here when I can't find my "prescription medicine".............

redshift 01.09.2010 11:05 PM

That's true, but will any of them ever see the light of day????

The hobby store I go to had a guy come in one day and ask for a hi end kit to build but really didn't care what kind of vehicle it was.He bought a kit and left,I was talking to the sales guy and he said the guy comes in once a month and lays down close to a $1000 on a kit.

Next month guy comes in again and asks for another hi end kit,I start idle chit chat with the guy while the sales guys grabbing his kit.Turns out the guy is a engineer for an oil company and a recovering alcoholic and by building these kits during the months he has been sober for 4 years, says he had to give a bunch away because he was running out of room in his garage, also said ha has never ever ran run,but he gets to see his kids since he quit drinking and really enjoys building them.

_paralyzed_ 01.10.2010 01:02 AM

^^^^^^^^^^^

yeah, I guess I've made a lot of assumptions. Mostly out of jealousy. Who knows what the story might be.

WOW:surprised:

Thats one expensive habit (the drinking, that is) for him to have to recover like that.

I can understand how it would help though. "Never ran one!"

hootie7159 01.10.2010 01:08 AM

That is true...when you're into a build time goes by fast and before you know it it's midnight and you haven't eatin' lunch or dinner...that's a great story to hear :)

shawzie 01.10.2010 01:10 AM

He was an older guy in his 50's,he said he spent close to 5k a month on booze. The only reason he started building them was a suggestion from one of his aa sponsors to find a hobby and keep his mind busy.
