It's that time of year again....2010 built off!!
Hello Gents!! now that the holidays are over and life has returned to normal It's time for the 2010 build off! Now, I know the economy has hit some of you pretty hard, but that's all the more reason to do this build off and support MonsterMikes endeavors to help us and as well as help the hobby we all love.
The rules are as follows: 1. You may submit any rc project you wish.(except female sex robots, they don't count) 2. All builds must logged with there own project threads on RCM. 3. All builds must have at least 1 part that you bought from Mike him self, or parts that you bought from other members here on RCM.(batteries do not count) 4. All builds must be finish by December of this year, preferably sooner. 5. And lastly, spending the most amount of money will not guarantee a high placing finish....Take your time, make your projects look nice, but don't be excessive/or hacks. And that's basically it guys! All builds will be publicly voted, I will not have the final vote....So lets see what you guys come up with! but most importantly have fun:yipi: (P.S. here is the 08 turn out >>>http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...ighlight=build) |
Is there a deadline for entry? I got a couple things i want to build, but will have to wait till at least mid year before i can start
|
see instruction/rule number 4
|
pinions shouldn't count as RC-Monster parts either for eligability

I too have a couple thoughts up my sleeve. However, my quest to purchase property is requiring maximum savings at the moment. Once i have that under rap i'll venture into the abyss with 2 builds for sure.
I'm currently working on redoing a Revo conversion. I'll start a thread. |
Yeah it should be something of significance bought through mike, be it a motor mount, chassis, a-arm set, battery tray, etc.
Point is, it has to be an RC-Monster product (not just something sold on RCM.com). Hopefully I'll have something to enter. |
I finished my build too fast... I'm RCM hybrid diffs and a battery away from done!
|
...hmm...ok...and we have a YEAR to enter? Yeah i like the sounds of this :) I am sure i can think of something :)

I need a few things actually...I need the braces for that Racebomb, new battery trays for the LSP, and I think a couple other small things. I think I might just get Mike to make me some battery trays. His should hold up better than the BPP ones... |
Quote:
I think mike could also make those braces you need as well . As long as you have a pair for him to copy . |

I started my RC8T project but it's all bolt on so I doubt it will be in there for this.
However, my 1:6 Jeep TJ build should qualify. Still sourcing parts for it....so if anyone has a E-Revo or E-Maxx transmission, Mad Force axles, or skinny beadlocks or wheels in Maxx size, PM me. |
...i know what i want to end up with :) its just the process is a bit bewildering right now :)
What are we judged on? Originality? Beauty? Fabrication skills? Abdominal flex? |
+1 for abdominal flex....I think I can get that one.

Am I too early, I've nearly finished already just some minor odds and ends to go, I did make a start on the first little bit during the Xmas holidays but the vast majority of it was done after new year as I didn't have to go back to work till the 16th of Jan and I made my build thread on the 15th of Jan.
If I'm not to early how do I go about entering? |

Just take your truck apart, clean it and place all the parts in little Baggies with stickers. Then, Take pics as you resemble it and post up a thread of your build. But hurry! you have to do this before you finish it with those odds and ends, other wise you'll be to late:whip:........or you can just start another project:lol: I forgot to note, please place all entries in this thread by linking your build here. They will be organized later:yes: |
Not sure if any of my builds qualify. No rcm parts as the trucks are either lst based or very custom. Most of my electronics were purchased used as well. Unless rcm pinion count, I have a ton of them!
|
No baggies here!
Build thread starts on post 12 here background info before then. The motor mount is a modified RCM unit and the pinion is a stock RCM item, a look through the background reveals RCM custom parts made obsolete by this new build. |

Good God man:surprised: It must have cost a fortune for all that CF....It looks gorgeous though, well done:yes: |
I have a follow up question. I was about to start race prepping my Slash and was planning to pick up some FLM stuff from Mike when it comes back in. Would I qualify or am I out since it's not an RCM product. I'm not sure he makes much for my SCT.
|
If you bought it from mikes web sight, Your good to go.
|
If you want, Modding_out, you can PM me the pics (just one general pic per person), I'll toss it into my shape collager, and add names so it'd be easier to vote (Say a poll, and have one giant ass picture so people can kinda refresh their memory), looks kinda sexy...
|
I want to enter my Monster GT conversion but the only RC-Monster part I have on it is an RCM pinion, since that's about the only RCM product that will work on my Monster GT that I know of. I did buy my GorillaMaxx battery straps that are on it from RCM though, can that count for anything?
RC-Monster Mike, PLEASE make some stuff for the Monster GT!!! :mdr::mdr: |
Sweet, I'll probably start a build thread after I get a few more pieces then.

When The time comes, I'll shoot you a PM Quote:
Sure That counts. Just any thing more than a pinion. Also Remember If anyone has bought parts from other members on here, that counts too for helping the community. |
I will have to start this ''ultra uber super duper extreme low CG LST XXL E-Revo RCM brushless conversion hybrid carbon fiber extraordinaire MMM powered monster truck'' I want to build.
|
IMO, It's not very "Project X" if you use standard over the counter parts.
