Hobbywing Apps. program??
 

Has anyone else here loaded the Hobbywing apps. program on their PC yet? I loaded it this morning thinking it would be similar to my castle link but OH Boy I couldn't have been more wrong! It installed two desktop icons on my PC the first is the USB link, after opening it I found it to be about as useful as tit's on a Bore Hog (pardon the expression) then I made the mistake of opening the other link for the speed calculator and Holy Moly it was written in what looked like Arabic which I'm sure was telling me that I was a filthy pig loving infidel and would die by the hands of Allah!!!! Not only that but when I tried to close the program it would not again cursing me and my family. I finally had to power down and reboot to close it. Is it just me or is this apps. program truly worthless?

I guess thats what one could almost expect trying to say a few bucks by going w/a inferior Co. rather than Castle ?

I own two MMM's already and wouldn't trade them for any other esc on the market. Just wanted to try something new. I only hope that there no problems with the esc or motor because I have found that the skepticism I have read about Hobbywing's customer service is not all unfounded as I have sent two emails and this was their response!

bummer man. There is always Tekin to try out.

I have read that they have pretty much ran all the gremlins out of the Rx8 and have read allot of good things about their customer service so that will most likely be my next new esc.

I don't have anything against Hobbywing, or any of the other Chinese brands, Hobbycity, etc. You just have to accept the trade-off between saving money and getting reliable customer support.

No problems here. I use the Apps program on XP. I actually sold most of my Castles to run EZRuns. No doubt the Castle products are a bit higher quality and materials, but my EZRuns are smoother and they hold up just fine for what I need. I did keep a few Castles for my "insane" rides.

I have read some good things about the new hobbywing. 10awg wires, kinda waterproof box/shell, and it seems that the conducting paths are more solid, compared to the old one. further, the box can be screwed onto the car.
at least small improvements to the old esc.

that new ezrun/xerun may be an option, if bought at a good shop w/ customer service.

I have not tried to update the ESC, I have only been on a few times to play with the settings. Honestly I will probably not update unless some great new feature is added. I love the way my EZRun controllers drive right now.

I buy anything Hobbywing from Hobbypartz.com. These guys want our business; so of course they are doing everything they can to give great customer service and answer any questions. Hell, with the friendly responses I have gotten, I bet they would answer your questions even if you didnt buy from them.

You really get screwed when you buy from the no-name Ebay sellers. They care not where your product is going or what happens to it at any point after the sale.

I figured out how to update my Xerun 150A...... I sold it and bought another mmm :lol::lol:

no disrespect but if you guys carnt update these hobbywing systems than you need to take up another hobby they are so simple my 8 year old can do it , to change to english click file at the top and click on english .lol. thats it as for the link here it is .. just to clarify that was the older ezrun systems he reviewd and yes they where pretty crapp . the tekin is pc programable vie pc so is the ezrun vie there program box posted in my link , hope this helps some what :mdr:

I have raced the same MMM for two years plus hours of practice with zero problems! But if I do happen to have a problem with my esc I know that their customer service is but a phone call away and the problem will be taken care of! You did read at the end of the video that Castle replaced the esc the next day, now that's real warrantyservice. Try that with Hobbywing :lol:

yes they have a great warrantie but here is the thing as in the other video its something you need but dont whant to use , i think castle systems defo need that warrantie with a 40% fail rate its not good , i have yet to have a hobbywing system fail on me and for the price that castle charge for there systems if they do fail i could replace the system atleast twice over thanks :yes:

Err I think u have never tried a hobbywing product before? I have burnt afew n got all free replacements including my friends.

I have never paid for repairs before. Top service n top quality. I raced with tekin rx8 n monster n beat them all.

I did try on three occasions to email Hobbywing with minor issues about programing and received no response, that would never happen with Castle Creations.

Just because you can out drive someone using different electronics proves nothing as to the quality of the electronics, just that your a better driver :neutral:

You can always come right through me for warranty work. The ESC is covered by a warranty for 1 year. The one thing I have seen not covered under the warranty is if the esc gets wet enough that water penetrates the casing and getting deep into the electronics.

If the ESC goes bad within about the first month, I replace it right away. After that, I would have to have it sent out to be inspected. The distributor I have has been very good about the time it takes to have the ESC's looked at.

i know the old ezrun C3 AND C4 had problems with softwear . and it looks like they still have but the new xerun systems i just carn,t fault and as above if purchased through a good vendor in the USA warrantie is not a problem i understand that a retailer named hobbypartz.com also in the united states also does this hope this clears things up .thanks :mdr:

Yes I did see the video, the guy didn't even know that the Tekin was PC programmable :rofl: and his review of the Hobbywing and their CC was less than stellar!

I bet 8-9 times out of 10 Castle faulures are due to idiots not useing enough battery,gearing mistakes and not checking temps or crashing their RC's to hard IE upside down like the Flux video posted above.
Bottom line, Castle strives for perfection and backs up their products 110% if there is any kind of failure due to workmanship issues and they even handle blatent user errors with remarkable patience and dedication to the customers happiness. Even if the user is a freakin moron(again, like the dumbass in the Savage video and the guy with the Slash with the heavy roll cage and running 3s probably over geared too).
40% failure ?? Where'd you get that from ? The dumb ass children form the TRX forum ?
Castle failure rate (Dont quote me) but I think I read here on RCM that it's under 10% ?
Consider they sold millions? of ESC's and motors to the general public and that most are morons I think thats pretty dam good !
