scarletboa 02.25.2010 10:26 PM

i can see a noob just looking at that and thinking "108 mph 0.0. this'll go perfect in my integy t-maxx shelf queen. i'll never run my t-maxx, but if i did, it would be INSANE and faster than any car ever built and because it is all bulletproof integy aluminum, it will NEVER break. my t-maxx is 100% metal!!!! it will beat ANYTHING in ANY race!!"

BP-Revo 02.25.2010 10:38 PM

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Krawlin 02.25.2010 10:46 PM

Don't hate on him you guys, maybe he put a bevel gear on the crank and a bevel gear on the motor and it works...... this could be legit you know!:lol:

etc1006 02.25.2010 10:55 PM

Man, thats great! It reminds me of the "hybrid" engine/motor they make for bass fishing in resevoirs where they dont allow gas engines on the boats. They take a golf cart electric motor and put it on a gas outboard lower end. Set it up with several deep cycle boat batteries and away you go.

brushlessboy16 02.25.2010 10:57 PM

Thats priceless, book marked

BrianG 02.25.2010 11:05 PM

but it's electric, traxxas is starting to see the trend. On second thought, lets let them outsource their electronics indefinitely:yes:

FastXR 02.25.2010 11:22 PM

Thats hilarious, I love his answer to the question of whether it actually worked.

hootie7159 02.25.2010 11:25 PM

Nitric...very nice!

zeropointbug 02.25.2010 11:26 PM

Bondonutz 02.26.2010 11:54 AM

I'm sick as a dog but found the energy to have a good laugh, thanks for sharing Harold.

suicideneil 02.26.2010 03:01 PM

Awesome!

It is BL though; he says he removed the brushes with some pliers to make it so...

DwightSchrute 02.26.2010 03:57 PM

i think he's considering putting up some video of the build.

i was standing right next to the seller when he was answering some of the auction questions. i know he appreciates and answers every last one. LOL

PBO 02.26.2010 04:59 PM

Great laugh

Reminds me of the guy selling the old rusty push bike that did skids "for 2 weeks!" & "wheelies into the next town"

revo guy 02.26.2010 05:49 PM

 Because of us he has ~600 views:lol:

magman 02.26.2010 05:53 PM

Lmao!

riverat1540 02.26.2010 05:54 PM

Freezebyte 02.26.2010 08:15 PM

My Revo TRX 3.3 was such a POS......

What's_nitro? 02.26.2010 09:06 PM

I love the comment about replacing the Red wire with a Yellow wire so that you can run a mixture of diesel and AA batteries...

suicideneil 03.01.2010 01:25 PM

He responded to my question ( re: Prius )

Shockingly though more people have asked serious questions about how it works, and another is calling him a fraud for selling a fake engine; do they not understand the concept of humour or what?

What's_nitro? 03.01.2010 07:57 PM

Q: Can you tell me how it works?
A: Nope, download the manual on Traxxas website.

...

 This guy is amazing.

riverat1540 03.01.2010 08:32 PM

It has a bid and what looks to be an increased bid after that!

revo guy 03.01.2010 08:48 PM

Q: Hmm, you said it has been converted to brushless.. brushless requires 2 motor wires, not two. Also please stop B.S.ing because even the most most noobish r/cer will tell u it is just an electronic motor places into the heatsink. Just stop right now, it's not funny at all.

A: Your the one B.S.ing. The last time I checked real brushless motors use THREE wires not two like you said before. The only reason this motor is brushless is because the brushes were yanked out with a pair of pliers. If you are that worried about the "noobish r/cer" then go bother the guys selling redcat racing and exceed cars who are really ripping the "noobish r/cer". If you think this is funny, post a question. If you don't then don't buy it.

Edit: WHAT its at $289 :rofl:

rawfuls 03.01.2010 08:49 PM

That guy, rustler001, from BYT forums (in which Krawlin' posted there), was completely serious. I read his all serious post, surrounded by thousands of posts of "LOL!" or "LMAO" or "THAT GUY IS MY HERO", okay maybe not the last one but you get it.. I couldn't stop laughing..

Byte 03.04.2010 04:59 PM

Friend of me just gave me the link again... $10.000
http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I'll bid till $12.500 I think

BrianG 03.04.2010 05:05 PM

OK, it was pretty funny when it was ~$400, but now that the reserve has been met, I wonder what will come of this? A joke is a joke, but if someone wants to take issue, there might be some repercussions.

Thought about that too. He should go to the lawyer if he doesn't get his money

riverat1540 03.04.2010 09:45 PM

i cant believe this,

DwightSchrute 03.05.2010 07:06 AM

it didn't meet the reserve. :)

rschoi_75 03.05.2010 09:51 PM

Q: Does this work? because Honestly it looks like a complete Fake.
A: Some say its an engineering marvel, and some say its two old motors hammered together, others have called it art.

note to self: stop drinking coffee and reading rc-monster forum posts... I need a new keyboard now....

DwightSchrute 03.06.2010 01:37 PM

the manager at my lhs listed that auction. at one point, the bidding got up to $10,999 but he cancelled the bids because there was no way he wanted to be responsible for any of the cost in fees in case the seller didn't pay.

he got over 160 questions and tried to answer them all as humorously as humanly possible, but after 4+ pages, the auction hit the limit for replies.

because the auction never reached the reserve by the end, he was getting offers for a couple of days after it ended.

imo, the best offer was for a mildy mentally challenged monkey. (this was also a JOKE) LOL

I think the only sad part of the whole auction were the basement losers who obviously couldn't take a joke and starting giving him a hard time for thinking he was auctually trying to pass this off as a working motor. everytime he got a bid, he emailed the bidder and told them exactly what it was and gave everyone an opportunity to back out or cancel their bid.

for anyone who was a fan of the page. there was a bunch of additional info written in white letters that may or may not ever have been found.... but described this auction as nothing more than a joke in good humor.

Why did he do it? It was just to lighten up some folks and have some good natured fun. the only person who ended up paying anything was him. the original posting fees of about $5.70.

i really think this could have sold if it had been listed in the arts section. the asthetic value alone was worth millions. LOL

as for the fate of the very first nitric engine, it's on it's way back for repair.
