I've witnessed a similar fire on a buggy at the local offroad track. Your buddy must have me pretty pissed. What body is that on the mrx4, btw?

Bazzokajoe 03.07.2010 06:24 AM

what was he running in it?

also, what did it look like before the fire?

V0RT3X 03.07.2010 07:37 AM

Bad crash, might have punctured the lipo?

sujuara 03.07.2010 08:09 AM

Thbody wasnt able to hold the car down... so as you cann see... it took off... rolled... and damaged the Lipo... then... all on fire.....

swiftneed 03.07.2010 08:16 AM

Maybe he should of smothered it with dirt would have shut the fire off before it got out of control or sand

captain harlock 03.07.2010 08:36 AM

My MRX4X's brushless controller went on fire, too. I don't really know what exactly happened, but my digital servo, tekin esc, and cc bec all had gone up in smoke.

magman 03.07.2010 10:24 AM

Sorry to see you basically lost all the electronics

Mozzy 03.07.2010 10:37 AM

Come on Aussie!! lol

I too have had a lipo fire & an ESC go up in smoke which took my BL servo with it.

That is the first thing I thought of when the fire started. Then I kept looking at the video thinking: ''why are these guys letting it burn like that!?'' I hear one guy say: It's gonna blow up anytime now'' :oh: and they all back off and watch it burn. :whip: Lipos don't blow up like sticks of dynamite.
I felt a little sick looking at the pics of this poor guy's MRX4. So many parts could've been saved by kicking dirt on the fire to smother it.

hootie7159 03.07.2010 01:25 PM

damn...as soon as the 02 hit the exposed lipo...smoke and fire!...i agree with crash...they could have definitely saved a lot more of the car by just throwing dirt on the fire..CDF style...lol

What's_nitro? 03.07.2010 09:04 PM

[rant]

Umm ok... Why the FU*K didn't anyone do ANYTHING to put it out??? :grrrrrr: Really... come on now. Would you rather take a chance burning your shoe or sit there and watch ~$1000 burn down for frakking 5 minutes?! This type of idiocy gets me angry...

[/rant]

sujuara 03.07.2010 09:10 PM

actually the whole lot cost almost 2000 buck... and labour

What's_nitro? 03.07.2010 09:19 PM

Sooo even more reason somebody should have done something... Have you ever seen the Gamefly commercials with people buying bad video games and freaking out? That's how I felt the entire time watching you guys let that car burn minute after minute. Yes, I am sorry that you lost your car but it may not have been a total loss...

glassdoctor 03.07.2010 11:50 PM

That's hard to watch. What a shame to loose not just a freakin lipo, but all the gear and even the chassis is pretty much destroyed. And it's all top notch stuff too. No way I could have stood there and just watched it burn.

Destroying a crappy RTR doesn't bother me though :)

sujuara 03.08.2010 01:03 AM

Wow.. I wish i could have done something... but the point is.. i was wearing thong... so no good for digging dirt into fire .. and one hand was holding camera... while the owner..walked away from fire... and long after that... he was back with.. bottle of water... basically... where the fire is so far away from... where we based at... so hardly doing something to stop a fire...

Mozzy 03.08.2010 05:48 AM

A thong? Filming & removing your underwear would have been a feat in itself! However, I don't see how a g-string could've put out the fire.

hehehe. Should've busted out the marshmallows instead.

Mozzy 03.08.2010 06:53 AM

Take a chill pill man. Jayzuz!

hooppjs 03.08.2010 07:06 PM

You lot will get r/c cars banned from Tempe!

You are hopeless. With 1 thong on my left foot, I have put out a small scrub fire.
I would grab your car, on fire, with my bare hands, & throw it in the Cooks river behind you. With you & all ya mates watching me. Your camera to mate.
You know why? Cause my kids play there on the hoops.
You try for speed records and have absolutley no idea what the car will do in only 140m. Like most brushless clowns, you drive for max top speed?

Clown.

Thanks
Peter

PBO 03.11.2010 06:29 AM

Jeez Peter, say what you really think!

sujuara, why on earth are you guys running there? I've been there before, families, kids, dogs everywhere. What happens if you hit a kid at speed? Couldn't you find an industrial area to run in? I drive to Bankstown to get away from people & cars, there's a great street right next to the airport...

superek4 04.16.2011 02:02 AM

molak 04.17.2011 12:09 AM

This video drive me nuts!

WTF is the owner doing since 0:59 to 1:07. In those 8 second he could save his car.

lipo+smoke = rip the body off and pullout the lipos...

A customer saved his e-revo that way saw smoke and ripped the body to take them out..
