That's cool. I am gonna make an A123 starter pack with cells I have sitting around.

Question? Why is he afraid of 12V? Or is it the heat from the wires?

Did you see the smoke coming from the terminals? They will get HOT.

Here's a proper lipo powered car:

http://www.ad-pecjak.si/ECO/slikce/LiPo1.jpg

"Kokam Li-Po batteries have arrived - 200 Ah 3,7 V cell with weight of only 4 kg!"

http://www.ad-pecjak.si/ECO/newsEespace.htm

"We drove 193 km on pure electric drive without charging the batteries and they still had 3,56V per cell what means about 20% of the total capacity!!!"

^ Now, that's progress.

JERRY2KONE 04.11.2010 04:59 AM

Now thats funny.

At least we know in a pinch that we can rely on using R/C Lipos to start our 1:1 cars. Why not? Just when you thought that you have seen everything eah??

DanteX 04.11.2010 05:35 AM

JERRY2KONE 04.11.2010 10:26 AM

Wow!!!

WOW 11.555 at 110 mph. That is just awesome for the electric boys. I bet that was really making some guys think about their hi powered fosel fuel burners in a different light. That is just great to watch. I wish I had the $$$$$ to do somthing like that. If we can turn out a rubber burner like that, then we should be able to turn out an electric vehicle that can run 200 to 300 miles on one charge easily. I would have to believe that we will have conversion kits available for any car out there within the next 5 years or so that is also affordable. Nice video.

E-Revonut 04.11.2010 05:58 PM

Incredible!!!

Marvin 04.11.2010 06:45 PM

Still using brushed though... :whip:

medusa'd maxx 04.11.2010 09:15 PM

imagine what he could do with a brushless set up!

jokerjustin 04.11.2010 11:14 PM

id be afraid of over discharging my lipos starting my truck

DLS II 04.12.2010 07:36 AM

A 1:1 brushless setup is incredibly expensive! On the order of $20000+. Thats why most of the 1:1 conversions are brushed. Don

Marvin 04.12.2010 08:36 AM

Oh no, I accept that - but can you imagine how good it'd be?!?

JERRY2KONE 04.12.2010 08:47 AM

Everything comes down.

Eventually everything comes down in price. Once BL becomes more the norm and readily available the prices will begin to drop just like they do on everything else in the open market. Plus the Chinese will copy cat things like they always do and sell them for a cheaper rate. That is why I said that within the next 5 years or so this technology will begin to show up in kt form that more people will be able to afford. Simple economics.

I remember the first time I saw a 40" plasma TV for sale. It was one of Hugh Heffner's playboy Christmas edition magazine articles in 1977 or 78. It was literally the first one made abvailable to the public and it was a Pioneer model that was listed retail at the time for $22,000. Now 33 years later you can find them for $1,000, and even less if you know where to look.
