You can use oven cleaner.

Stick15 03.09.2005 04:19 PM

i have been told that before, is there a specific one to use which works the best, as i need it to come off realy well

thanks for the quick reply

MaxxFusion 03.09.2005 04:20 PM

I have never done it myself but have seen people use any oven cleaner from Walmart and some elbow grease.

Stick15 03.09.2005 04:22 PM

ok sounds good il give it ago, it probably need some strong stuff.:D

MaxxFusion 03.09.2005 04:38 PM

Grab yourself some Mothers Aluminum Polish also so you can polish the part when your done. That will clean it up for you.

Serum (forum member) recently removed the ano from several parts, including a Feigao motor. Check out the brushless forum under truggy project for some info. I would guess Rene (Serum)could give you some pointers.

According to the thread he used soda or pop depending which side of the country you're in...lol. But I have heard of coke doing weird things. I know it is strong enough to remove battery acid.

RC-Monster Mike 03.09.2005 06:44 PM

I thought is was caustic soda (not a beverage here or there!)?

Stick15 03.10.2005 06:07 AM

sounds good, il give it a go
ive got some spaire chassis' plates, il try it out with a few things. il post back on this thred when i get my results.

rc4x4nut 03.10.2005 10:38 AM

My mistake, Mike is right, it was caustic soda. But coke will still take off battery acid...lol.:D

Stick15 03.11.2005 06:12 AM

i have got hold of this wied stripping agent which can take 15 layers of paint off of walls, my uncle said that it would work, so im gonna give it ago today.

it is called NITRO MORS

sounds convincing

il post back later with results.

Stick15 03.14.2005 05:49 PM

results,

absoloutly nothing happened.

not even abit came off.

im gonna try again with a few more things.

RC-Monster Mike 03.14.2005 06:57 PM

Wear gloves with the oven cleaner (your skin will thank you). :)

Hey This should help. Use Easy-Off oven cleaner

Who wants purple on their motor? I don't
Check out the instructions here

For every part i used, caustic soda did miracles within a 2-3 second dip..

That motor was a different story, i think it's hard anodized. That doesn't come of with caustic soda.

No problem though, when the easy-off works The oven cleaner we buy here in Holland is to friendly. It took me 1-2 hours of waiting and a serious hard pushing on the cloth to get it off..

The caustic soda did the same within a few seconds.

Be sure to use it outside.

The caustic soda works on;

HPI savage anodize
HB lighting anodize
3 racing blue
GPM anodize
proline powerstrokes

Don't let it hang in the mixture too long, it will end up black when you do..

makaveli 04.27.2005 06:32 PM

i have a sandblaster and a powdercoat machine

Serum 04.28.2005 01:55 AM

With a sandbalster, the aluminum has to be treated again, to become nice and shiney, with this deanodizing you get the aluminum back, they way it was before the anodizing (mostly polished)

Powdercoating is NICE! too

I've had success on small parts with pure Acetone
