How do I calibrate a Venom Pro Charger? HELP!!
 

The cell voltages on the charger all say 4.20 but my multimeter says they are off my up to 0.03v. Is it possible to calibrate the balance port? I know the main port can be calibrated.

It really doesn't help to post the same question in seperate forums, in fact, it is frowned upon.

And to add insult to injury it shows you are offline, so you're not even here to receive the answer to your question that was so important that you had to post it twice.

.03v difference isn't enough to worry about, just run with it.:yes:

Also, how do you know the multi meter is the accurate device? Cheap meters can sometimes be off by quite a bit, and even if the meter isn't cheap, it needs to be recalibrated at least once every 1-2 years.

no, im online, but I have it on my ipod touch,. and for some reason it shows me that im offline on my ipod, and posting it twice is the only way I could get answers anyway.

the multimeter is from my dad who works at shaw cable, its like a 300 dollar multi-meter.

Doesnt matter how much your multimeter cost,check it with a third source or dont worry about .03 insufficient anyway.If you had one doctor say you were going to die tommorow,and another tell you you were going to live forever , would you rely on your dads meter:lol:

yes, but its over charging my lipo's, i had some cells at 4.23

ok, just downloaded the manual, and no info on my issue. Ill just call venom tomorrow.

4.23 is okay is what we're trying to say, we're not trying to blow you off.

You probably can't calibrate the charger like you are thinking. If anything, see if you can set a different CC/CV threshold; something like 4.15v/cell. That 0.03v extra will actually be 4.18v which is pretty close to 4.2v.

ok, but im still concerned, one charger is putting in 2K mah, and another one 1.5
k mah........ i dont know anymore.

If one charger is charging one or more cells a little more than the other (your 4.23 reading) That could explaine the difference in mah. Unless the batteries get unreasonably warm during a charge I wouldn't worry about it. It's easy to over analyze this stuff at the price we gotta pay.:intello:

I have ,and use daily the same charger that you use.the minimal voltage variation you are seeing imho will not effect anything.Like i previously stated ..03 volt is not worth worring about.If you were talking .3 volts there may be a problem with your charger and or battery.

ok, so if it reads 4.23, instead if 4.20, i shouldnt be worried?

correct. out of curiosity what did the other cells read? were they all 4.23?

umm, I just finished charging the pack again, lemme go check......... charger reads 4.19, 4.19, 4.20, whish apparently is 12.60, and same readings with the other chargers, look at the time of this post, and look at the time of my earlier post, its been charging since then......... I will chack multi-meter voltages tommorrow, considering my dad is asleep at his own house. oh and BTW, one battery finished before the other one.

ok,wait, i had battery #1 on charger #1 the charger read 4.19, 4.19, 4.20. but, I stuck battery #1 on charger #2, and it read this: 4.22, 4.23, 4.21. and 12.63V WTF??, ok now I NEED to calibrate charger #1, but me and revo guy tried to, and all we could do it change the main voltage, now, if we change the main woltage, to match the meter, will that change the balance voltages? like i mean the balance blok, will it read right if we adjust the main voltage? or should I just sell them both, and get a hyperion duo? or somthing similar? or just a little better chargers? what u guys reccomend?

go ahead and recalibrate the main voltage if it bothers you. Just mlower it a little so it matches the other charger.

There really is no problem and you really are mover analyzing the whole situation. Good for you, better safe than sorry, but you really have nothing to worry about.

If you can afford to upgrade to a hyperion take the plunge, you won't be disappointed.

If you use the batteries together either in series or parallel for now charge one at a time on the same charger.

If you use them seperately I tenths of a volt discrepancy is nothing to worry about.
