Is this put together well
 

Here are a couple pics of the set up of 12020 to a 8XL (this part should be arriving soon). This is the first set up I have done and want to be sure it's ok. The battery lines may be a little long, but the positive will have a stretch to reach. Any advice would be appreciated!

Everything looks good, i have a dumb question for you...what size did you resize your pics too....so they will fit onto the page better?.

looks about 200 x 200 pixels - imo

If you use the 'manage attachments' button at the bottom of the page, you can add photos there. It will automatically re-size them so they look like the ones at the top of this page - people can then click to see the full size image.

Everything looks well put together, but I think you might want to trim the battery wires down a little. The instructions for my 9920 said to keep the battery wires as short as possible.

What will having the bettery wires too long do? I can probably get 1/2 -1 inch off with how I am putting it together. If it's not going to make a huge difference, i would rather not do it. Getting those two thick wires on a deans adapter was a real pain!

I know what ya mean. Deans are a pain to install. I'd try it as is then if it coggs, try taking off a couple inches. The manual says 4" from battery to ESC, but I dont know how thats even possible in most situations.

Thanks folks. I will give it a go when the motor gets in. What kind of problems will I see with long wires?

Longer wires means more voltage drop, which means less voltage gets to your motor.

I think those wires should be fine, you really need excessively long wires to have a significant voltage drop. Most lost power will come from the soldering connections, if those are solid and well done you should be fine. Keeping the wires short is desirable yet I think it'll be fine.

Though the wire length doesn't actually affect your truck, it does affect thee utmost important thing...damaged esc replacement. If there are too many wires, it gives schulze (or maybe even BK) a reason to charge you for the replacement.

I like to know how you supposed to wire up to battery packs with 4 inches of wire. It would be really hard to do.

is your truck all stock? like tranny diffs ect ect

I have MIP CVD, steel idler gear otherwise stock. Those are the next upgrades after getting nice batteries.

you might wont to think diffs in the near future the stock diffs dont hold up real well to bl power. also if money allows a new stronger chassie would be a good thing if you bash your truck pretty hard. ive read that the stock chassie is pretty week, but im no expert on emaxxs so.

IMHO, deans are pretty easy to solder!

lol, maybe with your soldering skills and a 3rd hand device. With my two hands and my soldering skills, they are a pain.

Next time I will first solder a short peice of deans battery wire to the connector . Soldering the two thicker controller wires to the deans wire would be easier.

Just rec'd a 12020 BK controller. Looks the same as the original post in this thread, but my 2 positive and 2 negative wires are on the same side (rather than opposite sides like the original post). Do I wire it the same as the original post?

WEll if you wire it like you have in pic just not the red and black wire to different sides yeah. You had it wired right just the factory didn't.

If they screw up the simple stuff like wire colors, it makes you wonder what else they screwed up on.
