My new Truggy
I traded a velineon ESC and $20 for this Sportwerks Mayhem ST.
It's basically brand new. the engine was broken in, and it starts and runs very well. I'm not sure what to do with it. brushless conversion? keep it nitro? sell it? here's some pics: http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...rtwerks017.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...rtwerks016.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...rtwerks015.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...rtwerks008.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...rtwerks006.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...rtwerks005.jpg opinions? |
sell it and bet a "proper" truggy if you want to race
if you want to bash keep it nitro :) |
Last nitro I had was my Raze before I converted it. If you plan on going electric, here is what I recommend, as it was super fun.
Buy a gallon of fuel, bash the snot out of it as it is. Then as you get to the end of the gallon, start running it leaner and leaner and leaner. See how fast you can get her to go before the motor goes poop. I bet my motor was spinning at some ridiculous rpms before it blew. Pretty fun day though. |
Those are great for a basher, and parts are cheap on ebay.
|
i think i'm gonna sell the engine and convert it. there are some very cool conversions i found here.
thanks guys. btw is the mount Mike has for the sportwerks compatable with it? |
What a deal you got, the tires alone are 70bucks.
It'll make a great basher fer sure. |
Yep, the sportwerks mount from Mike will work.

CRAP!! I was just starting to thin the fleet......:whistle: thanks to everyone for their replies... oh, one more thing...the shocks are threaded, but don't have the threaded stops to them to change the spring tension....they actually come with collars. do you or anyone else know where to get the threaded stoppers? |
ebay maybe

I picked one of these up off ebay as a roller very cheaply - but haven't had time to convert it yet. It does look like a nice little basher.
Dwight: mine didn't come with a body - and I'm not sure how easy they are to come by. Do you know what body that black one is that you have? It looks like a 10th scale body - does it fit OK? |

i should have my motor mount from Mike tomorrow...i just got a fed ex tracking #.:party::party: |
Looking at the pictures... That looks a lot like a losi muggy. Meaning, the diffs, cd mount, and radio tray all look almost identical to the muggy. I wonder if you could put a Muggy/LST suspension on it?
|
ok, the brushless conversion is done! i really liked how it turned out. this thing is FAST!
I'm still not sure if i'm gonna keep it though. i might sell it to get a slash 4x4 so i can race my spec class. here's the build in various states: http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ksbuild004.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ksbuild013.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ksbuild014.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...ksbuild017.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...twerks2003.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...twerks2002.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...twerks2007.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...twerks2006.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...twerks2009.jpg PM me if you wanna buy it and we can duscuss a price. I can also include the nitro engine setup as well. Basically, it's got an RCM Muggy motor mount, a losi 8ight battery tray and a NTC3 receiver box to copmplete the conversion. i was also thinking about getting some Savage wheel adapters to widen it a bit. Enjoy! |
I added some MT wheels and tires that really widens the front and rear.....i think i like these better than the stockers:

I know what you got some of your Losi rigs for.. and another trade like this... sigh... ther arent as many suckers around here.. LOL.. you are the luckiest dude I know in the hobby..
Nice conversion... |

as far as the 8ights...yeah...those are my babies. you really ought to see if you can pick one up on ebay. imo, they're phenominal. i was launching one of mine off my skate ramp today at full throttle, just trying to see if i could break it...no dice. it's the best buggy i've ever beaten on. i don't think i'd trade that for a 5B.:gasp: |
5b.. LOL.. IMHO, too loud, too slow, too messy... plus they make this noise i hate.. and they are loud.. and then, there is this obnoxious noise... and they are loud... plus, i hate the sound they make... did i mention they were loud?? I wouldnt trade my slash 2wd for a 5b and thats a fact.. i cant stand them... mostly cause they are so big, slow and sloppy.. plus, they make this noise...
you get my point.. i HATE those things... i am sure they'd be fun in the dunes here, but otherwise.. grass rides at the park.. or parking lot laps.. BORING.. plus, the noise is awful.. ;) I just dropped 350 on AC for my car.. but next month, i'll be peeping for an RC8 or Losi... for sure.. maybe.. HAHA |
I just bought a second roller for $70 shipped. This is a FUN truck!
I'll post pics of it when it arrives. i think i'm gonna drop a 6 or 5XL Feigao in it |
