RC8T Conversion Questions

will this mount be a direct drop in in a stock chassis?? http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...od=RCMRC8mount

is the drivetrain gonna hold up to 5s and 6s MMM 2200??

do u think this was a good buy?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

thanks for any input

Yes that mount will work. You should check this out tho: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...RCMRC8Tchassis

5/6s shouldn't be an issue.

Not a bad deal on the roller. Looks clean and taken care of.

Ok thanks I already saw that chassis but I'm kinda on a budget so the cheaper the better Lol. It's just gonna be my basher so hopefully it holds up pretty good any thing I should look out for??

I have raced with the RC8T with the RCMonster chassis for two years. One year on 5s and the last year on 4s. Also between seasons it has been a basher. It's a very strong truck, I did twist a driveshaft at the end of the second season and wore out a pin in the front center CVD shaft after the first year. I broke a shock in a bad crash, thats about it for parts in two years. There is normal maintence that needs to be done as well though like bearings and bushings, I also replaced the dront and rear diff housings before the start of my second race season because I had them and they are cheap.

Is the mount hard to install?? Does it come with instructions??

Nard Cox 11.01.2010 07:34 AM

It's very easy to do, you will manage

Ok thanks lol how did u like ur rc8t durability wise??

Nard Cox 11.01.2010 11:12 AM

It was great. Bashed it a lot and raced it one time. Only thing that broke was the rod end of a shaft during the race (head on collision with other driver). Video's

mac3194 11.01.2010 12:18 PM

Ok, great vids man!!

bruce750i 11.01.2010 01:32 PM

I've bent my rc8t rear chassis brace and chassis, bashing. IMO due to the rear brace not being aligned parallel with the chassis, allowing the rear end to twist under pressure.

e-rev project 11.01.2010 01:37 PM

i bent my rc8t chassis and rear brace bashing as well, but i had the rc monster chassis with the parallel brace so...

Nard Cox 11.01.2010 02:36 PM

I see lots of people bending rear chassis braces, I've always used plastic and never had a prob.

I had the RCM also. Maybe I installed the blue FT brace wrong and/or the brace just sucks?
N.C. Does the plastic brace come with the RC8te kit?

mac3194 11.01.2010 03:22 PM

Are chassis expensive?? Should I buy an extra one??

E-Revonut 11.01.2010 07:37 PM

I did also bend the Factort team blue chassis brace, twice. Switched to the RTR plastic brace and problem solved!

mac3194 11.01.2010 11:29 PM

Should I get the rc monster motor mount and servo plate or should I just buy the hole team associated kit for about $25 more??

el tomaso 11.03.2010 11:59 PM

I'd save for the whole RC M kit with chassi and all. But thats just me. I'm looking at doing just that for my next car.

Plus one on the RCM kit, I started with the RC8T-e kit since I had a coupon, I think last fall. Just built it about a month ago finally and so disappointed. Motor mount sucks, battery tray is ROAR spec none of my batteries fit, so ordered Mike's. It is awesome, the fit and finish are as good as you can get anywhere. Really saved my project. Literally if I Mike hadn't made that kit I probably would have just sold it, I was that frustrated.

mac3194 11.04.2010 07:08 PM

well ill se what my budget can afford lol
