This thread is dedicated to the building procedure of my GrandArk.Phase-1 Super FLMaxx
Right now I have not done anything noticeable to my poor beast. Anyway, here're some pics of my stuff:

More to come later.

i love my 1950 and my speed control isn't in car mode, you'll love that thing. i've got a 8t version on 6s lipo. i'm running a bk 12020 right now, but will be getting a quark 125b soon. the quark should give a lot better performance!

MetalMan 06.30.2006 09:17 AM

That should be an interesting setup indeed! I grinned once I saw that 1950 :).

Sylvester 06.30.2006 09:31 AM

Very nice Captain! You will have a very beautiful ark! You will be amazed by the 1950! Looks like you are progressing very well.

captain harlock 06.30.2006 10:48 AM

I'm sure the 1950/10 will impress me. However, it depends on the batteries. I'm saving for 6s 3700mah Evo20 lipos.
I'll be out for sometime and once I return I'll discuss somethings with you, guys.

neweuser 06.30.2006 01:04 PM

Why not the 1950/8? Just curious as many people say it's agreat motor....

captain harlock 06.30.2006 02:38 PM

I need torque over anything else. Mike sent me a 24T Mod1 pinion to use with the Strobe system. I believe I can get some decent speeds and runtime with this motor.

neweuser 06.30.2006 02:41 PM

Ok, but if you need "torque" would you not want a smaller pinion?

captain harlock 06.30.2006 02:44 PM

The truck would be quite slow with a smaller pinion. At 24v I'm able to pull my truck beyond 50mph easily. The task would be even easier with lipos.

neweuser 06.30.2006 02:47 PM

I see. I kinda figured that, but when you said TORQUE...i was a little confused at the pinion choice! Let me know what you think of the motor!

captain harlock 06.30.2006 02:49 PM

I surely will, newuser.

Mike.L 06.30.2006 04:13 PM

Nice, keep us updated!

When putting the 8 Spyder diff together, do I have to use two big O rings (for the diff cap and ring gear)( like the one that goes around the diff cap to seal it) or just one?

squeeforever 07.01.2006 08:55 PM

You have to use both so seal against the ring gear and cup and the front cap and the cup.

Here's the rear hybrid bulk with the knuckle head shock tower( had to do some filing to the top of the hybrid to make the shock tower fit):

Looks good!
