Revo Hybrid diff cases

1 Attachment(s)
Here is a prototype of the Revo hybrid diff cases. The final details are being worked out, but the plan is to allow use of the stock driveshafts(or aftermarket cvds that fit the stock diffs). Enjoy. :)

RC-Monster Mike 07.13.2006 11:32 PM

Also(Dafni), these should accept buggy OR truggy diffs. :)

squeeforever 07.14.2006 12:13 AM

THANK GOD!!! Mike, whats the price gonna be on these? About 75ish?

BrianG 07.14.2006 12:13 AM

Yay! It's on my wish list already!

HotnCold 07.14.2006 06:26 AM

I guess i should bring a couple 1/8 scale diffs over tonite mike - :dft012: :dft012:

RC-Monster Mike 07.14.2006 09:01 AM

I would guess around $100 per diff setup. The diffs already cost $65ish, not counting the custom modded pinion shaft and output drive shafts(to accept stock diffs). We are still working out some details on the procedure.

coolhandcountry 07.14.2006 09:18 AM

Sweet. I was wondering if could get a set of the modded diffs for a maxx with the ue cases. I could just do a revo instead.

Mike.L 07.14.2006 10:36 AM

Pritty cool. considering you can use two-three different types if diffs

Serum 07.14.2006 12:14 PM

Okay, that was the only thing that kept me from buying a revo.. :p

pcnutz 07.14.2006 01:28 PM

Mike why are you making a modded pinion for it, why not use 1/8th scale stock pinion and dog bone cup

Serum 07.14.2006 01:30 PM

because it will allow you to use stock shafts.

I took you 2 whole minutes to respond to that question - what took you so long Rene? - :005:

Dafni 07.14.2006 06:00 PM

Nice, Mike! Especially the "truggy" part!

Any testing required? :)

When they go into production, tell Jamie to run a HUGE batch! They will go out faster than free beer, I have no doubt.

pcnutz 07.14.2006 06:09 PM

I think after the diffs are replaced the last weak link is the stock center shafts, why would any1 want them, just a thought, trying to save you money and effort

Dafni 07.14.2006 07:25 PM

pcnutz, most of us BL Revo guys use dogbones in the center anyway. Well, at least all the G2R users do.

Sylvester 07.14.2006 09:43 PM

AWESOME! Sign me up for a pair once i get back from poland!

Serum 07.15.2006 03:16 AM

Did i just heard free beer?!

crazyjr 07.15.2006 01:20 PM

Will these work with the G2R shafts?

coolhandcountry 07.15.2006 02:40 PM

If you buy the modded diffs mike is going to carry. Yes it will work with the stock sliders.

crazyjr 07.15.2006 03:07 PM

I meant with the G2R shafts

Dafni 07.15.2006 05:06 PM

The input shaft on the HB diff-pinion will come modified. It will be 6mm instead of 8mm, to let you use stock revo bearings. So yes, it will work with your G2R drivecups and dogbones.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Mike. This is how I understood it. It would not be possible to bring 8th scale bearings into the Revo stock bulkheads without modifing them (the bulkheads).

Serum 07.15.2006 05:20 PM

Sounds fair to me, i remember the bulks had a tight fit at that point, so my guess is that it doesn't take 16mm bearings.

RC-Monster Mike 07.16.2006 09:52 AM

Correct Dafni and Rene. The diffs have a modified pinion to accept the stock Revo bearings - 16mm bearings simply won't fit. They will allow the use of any aftermarket driveshaft option that will attach itself to the stock diffs, including the G2R shafts. :)

tallyram 07.16.2006 04:40 PM

this sounds awesome. i can't wait for them!

crazyjr 07.16.2006 07:56 PM

Thank you Dafni, and Mike

2f43t4yall 07.18.2006 12:33 PM

so whens bulkless coming around?

squeeforever 07.19.2006 12:28 AM

It might be a while.

HummerMan 08.17.2006 11:50 PM

All I am going to say is wow! They look great!

rchippie 08.18.2006 11:07 AM

Mike they looooooooooook AWSOME. What size bearings do they use ?.

RC-Monster Mike 08.18.2006 11:11 AM

These should be available fairly soon - no hard date, but we are working on finalizing the design. They use the stock Revo bearings - the whole idea is a direct replacement that allows use of any Revo drive shafts or upgrades while providing the durability of the 1/8 diffs.

rchippie 08.18.2006 11:18 AM

Mike thats great. I posted a link to your diffs on my LT site. Also my buddy owns a LHS he may be interested in carring your diffs if your interested.

coolhandcountry 08.18.2006 11:23 AM

Does this mean you closer to a release mike?

RC-Monster Mike 08.19.2006 06:56 AM

Hippie - there will be wholesale opportunites for hobby dealers as I anticipate this to be a popular item.
The biggest holdup for these will likely be getting the internal diff parts in quantity(for now - we may design and build our own diffs in the near future). The actual parts we make and modify shouldn't be much trouble to keep up with.

CrazyPhantom 08.31.2006 11:07 PM

I will definately be intrested for my Trevo project, as well as carrying them for resale.

its me 09.01.2006 05:47 AM

wow guys!!!! the reason that i joined this forum is because of this thread.

And if your wondering if this will be a popular item, it will be. The way I
found this site is a link from another site into this thread. Awsome guys!!!!!
