URGENT: motor/esc recomendation for predator
i need a brushless motor and a VERY small esc to fit in my predator. not looking for crazy power. just want a nice prushless motor. i don't have much room to work with due to lack of chassis space and VERY low profile body
We are talking about the ttech predator X10??
yes sir
Go with a Mamba Maxx 4600 or 5700.
i heard they don't do well with gp3300 packs though :|
From who??? Sounds like BS to me.
it should work just fine dude. squee is right
Yup, Mamba Max all the way.
You can get the controller for 134 dollars and get a 1920/6 to go with it. I think it would make a nice setup, but the motor(1920) is quite pricy. Though the Mamba Max motor is really good and affordable. |
i got the 5700 combo. ordered it tonight. now i need a pinion and a new motor for my savage. Mike please answer my email asap!
Whats your qustion? Maybe I can help...
well i am suppose to send stuff to him and he is going to revamp it (take th eplugs off my motor and esc and rig it up to a different motor) and stuff liek that.
the esc might be tight in there, its not huge but not the smallest esc out there
i also need a new motor for my savage. any suggestions for a new BL one? i am not looking at spending to much
also what batteries should i run in it do you guys think? i am thining ib3800 saddle pack
You don't solder? Anywho, yea, go with IB3800's or 4200's. As for the Savage....Depends on how many cells, but I would choose a XL Feigao C.
i solder. but i don't like messing with esc's and motors and that. because the guage of the wire is so high that i have to use a gun not an iron. i am running a bk warrior 20120 and 18 eclls in the savage
18 cells, I would choose a 9 or 10XL.
bk 10xl. or nemesis?
BKWAND_XL Feigao/Nemesis/Wanderer "XL" Brushless Motor $90.00 $90.00
wanderer xl wind: - 10xl - - BK9000325 High Amp. Gold plug 5.5 mm, 150 Amp $1.99 $5.97 5.5mm gold plug: - male - - BK9000325 High Amp. Gold plug 5.5 mm, 150 Amp this is going to be what i purchase on around wednesday |
wanderer 10xl would be perfect. i run one on 16 cells and the temps are great with plenty of power. You can use an iron on the thicker gauge wire, just do one, let the iron get to top temp and do the other. List looks good!
I would run the Feigao C XL since it has the built-in heatsink and doesn't have that crappy pressed on endbell.
Squee, ...either are good choices. A pressed on endbell is not that bad if you're not running tons of heat thru it. The only time i've ever had one come off is when the screws were in too far. What are you going for speed? Or bashing?
Not what i meant to say squee, ooops! |
What do you mean the Wanderer doesn't either? The Feigao has the screwed on endbell which is a big plus as well as the built in heatsink.
To come backt to the X10.
I love this buggy. toby would you buy the X10 a second time? Do you think it's stabile enough for BL? I also want to buy a X10 and put a BL into it but probably no Mamba... simply because it's easier to get a lehner or a bk wanderer her in germany than a mamba... So what combi would be nice for the X10, i want to use Lipos, the buggy shouldn't be too overpowered just light and smooth. I think i will take 4S Lipos but a Motor with not too high rpm/v and a lower spur/pinion ratio... |
the pred is sick. the instructions are awfull though, so for me it was a first kit.
i will have to see if the diffs are capable of handeling brushless. some say no and others say yes. so back to the savage motor. what one should i get? also would the c xl run on my 20120? |
Yes.
maXXler, 4s in the predator might harm the drivetrain of this buggy.
How about a Lehner 1920/5-6 turns with a BK9920. The Predator is so sleek and narrow that you cant even put in lipos without modification ( I believe you can do it, though). The body is so sticky to the chassis which make positioning of the BK9920 even harder, so prbably you may want to check out something smaller like a U-Force75 or something. The Mamba Max controller with the 1920/5 and 2s lipos will make one nice setup that will make your X10 scream. |
@captain: Hmm, man i think you're right...
I will order the X10 and when i have built it up i can measure which controller would fit best... |
Yeah, that'll be the best to do.
BTY, haven't you checked out the Yokomo MR4-BX buggy? I tell you, the X10 is nothing compared to that piece of art. |
You mean this baby:
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/_images/...g/mr4bcx_b.jpg Hmm not bad:027: I'm a bit confused which buggy i should take... |
The yokomo would probaly be the easiest to get parts for...

Well, why I did not like the X10 is that it is a bit weak and fragile. After one main of hard racing you might end up with a popped out ball stud and damaged steering blocks. At least the yokomo uses aluminum bulkheads and woven carbon fiber which makes it superior to the X10. But the X10 might have lower CG than the yokomo. I'm not sure, though.

Oh, and you go: www.oople.com
Here you'll find some real good reviews on many 2wd and 4wd buggies including the Yokomo and X10. |
