Need help identifying these rims please!
1 Attachment(s)
I came across these rims in this months issue (november 06)of Radio Control Car Action on page 78. I've been searching all day and can't find anything that even resembles them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Tires too please)
Thanks. |
Here ya go:
http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/pa...6/3256_01m.jpg They're HPI Blast wheels...available in black, chrome or white. Also, those look like Phaltline tires: https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/c...=ns&pn=HPI4729 |
Cool, thanks skellyo! Those are deffinately the ones. However, they look really wide on that guys truck in the pic that I supplied.
I checked HPI's website and they don't seem to have those rims or tires anymore. Nothing on ebay either. Any other suggestions? Thanks. |
There had been some on Ebay about a week ago. Towerhobbies has them listed as late oct.
Don't tell me the WORLDS FASTEST MONSTER TRUCK is a nitro:035: . Thank you, Promod |
They're actually a new line from HPI. I don't think tower has had any in stock yet. I'm guessing the guy was affiliated with HPI or something in order to have had them that early.
|
Promod.. I didn't read your post, but that was a 1:1 copy of my thoughts...
LOL!! let's pull down the pants of that nitro vehicle.. Drive circles around it.. |
I find it hard to believe that hte world's fastest monster truck is a nitro...since Bl can smoke them easily.....
|
Thanks for the help guys. It looks like I can only get them in 17mm?
Hey Promod, why werent you at the High speed shootout? You would have easily smoked that guy. |
I guess not, then this article would have showed another truck...

I almost picked up a set at the Redlands store last week. |
wonder what the speed of the nitro mt musta been?
|
Somewhere in the low 60's...
|
LIke squee said to. It was only in the 60s at that. I think you can get in there promod.
|
I would try next year, but Cali is kinda far :frown:.
|
You closer than me squee. :D
I like to see one held on this side of the states. Maybe they should have more in different spots. Not just in cali. |
I am about 45 minutes from there. My brother drag races his car there about once a month. I just may have to go next year. I didn't know that they were having it this year or I probably would have gone.
|
I would have loved to have gone to speed challange. But with me living in PA there is no way I could get to CA. I wish they would move the event to the east coast one year.
Thank you, Promod |
Johnnymaxxima, If you live that close you need to go next year. That twin engine truck of yours should fly. 70 mph plus should not be a problem with the power your making.
Just need to put the time in to make it run the number. Thank you, Promod |
I agree promod. It be nice to see one every 6 months. One on east side one on west side. They could go every three months. east west south and north part. :D
|
I agree, they should give everyone a shot by having the races at different locations. Lots of people out there with fast r/c but not everyone can afford to travel.
|
I saw some Phatline tires in person, and somehow the rubbers in your pic look much wider. Phatlines are very narrow. I got the impression the ones in your pic must be something else... but looks can deceive. Don't take my word for it.
|
You know what it is Dafni, I took the above pic off the magazine with my camera. The actual picture in the magazine does show the tires as quite a bit narrower. Somehow got stretched when downloaded. Interesting.
All the stores around here were saying late Oct. for release. Now they have pushed it back to mid November. Just waiting on these so I can finally do some top speed runs on my dually. |
