SUPER NICE MAXX!!
Even the motor plate is perfectly polished.
You sure got me jealous, dude.
How's the truck's speed?

VWT4 11.24.2006 07:58 AM

I will measure the speed this weekend with a speed gun.

The R/C Vehicle Speed Calculator throws 42MPH (66km/h), is not too much but I expect tons of torque!!!

Nick 11.24.2006 08:18 AM

Very nice, why do you have a LVC? Got some Lipos on it yet? :)

How did you polish your mount?

VWT4 11.24.2006 08:50 AM

Yes, I have 4 Hyperion 3.700mA VX, two 2S and two 3S.

I use it 2S +3S serial wired, total 5S. The discharge is 74A and work great.

The NiMHs are 8 cells side by side packs, two 4K (maxamps), two GP 3.300, and 4 Intellect 3.800ma (two of them matched).

I bought the motor mount and a beautiful transmision case already polished, but the case don't fits in the Lightning chassis :007:

VWT4 11.24.2006 09:48 AM

Thanks Shayne.

I have an awesome Ultramaxxed Gen III set in the truck ;-)

sjcrss 11.24.2006 10:01 AM

phildogg 11.24.2006 11:01 AM

bro thats a great looking truck you have.. can you post a pic of what exactly you are using to mount the esc? thanx or anyone that uses something on a e-maxx tranny where the extra motor used to be.

phil

Nick 11.24.2006 11:03 AM

What make is the transmission ? FLM? How doesn't it fit? I have the Lightning with singlespeed, thinking of getting the FLM half-case for full alluminium tranny.

It is the RC-Solutions brushless controller mount, it is in ebay for $8:

But Mike sells a better plate that includes heatsink and looks great:

I think it is Integy, sure it's not FLM. Mine measures only -3mm more than the chassis space between the braces.

Serum 11.24.2006 01:36 PM

That transmission is a GPM.

Is that the horror controller you are using?

Nice truck!!

cemetery gates 11.24.2006 01:56 PM

sweet man! looks really good

Bye:018:

Serum 11.24.2006 02:04 PM

The wabash rimms don't give you the maximum steering. The where limiting my racer-x..

I know alot of people don't like schulze esc's but I had one ran it hard and never had a prob. but I guess people have differant luck.. I had a 18.97 in an E-maxx..
phil

Serum 11.24.2006 02:20 PM

It's not about the quality of the controller, it's the quality (or lack) of service...

coolhandcountry 11.24.2006 05:05 PM

That is nice. I like it.

Hallo!

Why doesn´t the case fit in the lightning chassis?

I have the same transmission case and want to install it the next days into my lightning chassis... where´s the problem?

The case is the exact dimension the original emaxx case has...

Marc.

Marc, mine is only a little wider than the space between the lower braces:

--stock case is 44,45mm

--aluminium case is 44,50mm

If the FLM case fits I will sell the GPM and get the correct one.

Vicente.

Serum 11.25.2006 04:15 AM

that .05mm can't hurt that bad..

You can use a gasket between the two halves, i know Ryan used it for his.

VWT4 11.25.2006 04:29 AM

I don't understand you.

Adding a gasket between the halves won't change the width of the case, only the length will increase.

BTW .05mm metal to metal conntact didn't let me fit the case.

Serum 11.25.2006 04:35 AM

So if you drilled out the holes of the chassis with .1 it would be ready to go. not too hard imo.

Hi !

I know what you mean, i tried to install the gear box this night and no, it does not fit.

I am going to buy a milling cutter for my dremel today and cut out the
missing 0,5mm from the braces.

That will not hurt the stability...

Marc.

Hi !

I think you are refering to the transmission half cases that don´t fit quite well because they are too short.

You can either use a gasket or dremel a little bit on the input shaft...

I did the second.

Marc.

I think I would use a file first. The dremel is good for larger amounts.
The file is a safer more even cut.

Serum 11.25.2006 03:07 PM

Since it's only .05 mm, a drill which is .1 larger in diameter should solve the problem without leaving any traces.

Is it the inside of the stuff or the hole?

crazyjr 11.25.2006 04:36 PM

The way i read it, was that the trans. case was too wide not a hole alignment problem

Serum 11.25.2006 05:23 PM

my reader must be down at this moment..

VWT4 12.10.2006 05:25 PM

Here is a short video.

The SuperBigMaxx doing backflips .... you can do all those that you want, one after another one. Absolutely no cogging.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3..._Backflips.jpg

I really love my 18.149 + Big Pletty combo :004:

neweuser 12.10.2006 05:31 PM

That's cool! Most people just talk about them, but they never want to show it! Great Job, looks like tons of torque!

Serum 12.10.2006 05:34 PM

No wonder you don't notice any cogging.. LOL that's an on-off switch, not a controller..

Looks like you geared it pretty high. Cool looking vid!

nbcaznmaster 12.10.2006 05:42 PM

HOLY CRAP.. it looks like thatq thing FLIES, could u get a slower one so that i can actually see if it isnt touching the ground.

bigboi146 12.10.2006 05:51 PM

Thats a nice maxx. How much did it dig into your wallet?

It is very easy: pulling the trigger as fast as you can. My 8 years old son loves backfliping, too. :013:

The ratio is 18:1 .
