Fraud And Thief?!?! Wtf?!?!

I was suppose to ship out this item to this dude yesterday but didnt. crap happens. He got really pissed and said it was fruad cuz i said i should have ship yesterday. He then ranted on about how he would call teh cops and crap. ITS A ONE DAY DIFFERENCE! :mad:1 WTF, can he really do that. He says hes a Cop too or some municipal officer. He threatened to press charges unless i ship it express overnight, and delivery on sunday. Is there a way to check if hes a real cop? This might be a scam or something to get fast shipping.

squeeforever 12.16.2006 01:04 AM

When did he pay for it? And what is the item?

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 12.16.2006 03:04 AM

Wow! I hear the courts really look down on people that don't ship when they say they will. I think you are looking at about 10-15, maybe half that for good behavior. We'll miss you.

carlog80 12.16.2006 03:08 AM

hahaha you guys are hilarious!

Yea - well seeing as youll be gone for a bit - we'll take care of your rc-stuff for ya - LOL - Dont sweat it - If he continues to be a jerk about it - make a photocopy of a badge, emil it to him, and tell him that your the chief of police of gotham city and youll send batman and robin over to take care of him.... :027:

nbcaznmaster 12.16.2006 08:46 AM

I gave him my # so we can work something out. Than teh cops called that # saying that he would press charges. Then teh cops said that he couldnt file teh charges untill saturday morning. The caller ID said "private" so i dunno if its the cops or not. The cops said the trader filed copies of all our PMs.

nbcaznmaster 12.16.2006 09:36 AM

In the end, im meeting up with his cousin to transfer the item. He says hes a cop to. Is there a way to chekc? Do off duty police officers still have thier badges? It might be scam so that he can say he shipped, but i never did. Dont police officers have specific idenity #s? Should i get them to sign a paper saying that he represents the trader, and that he received the package or somethign. Can any1 who is good with law language type a little somethign up.

GorillaMaxx360 12.16.2006 10:21 AM

sorry to see that happen

phildogg 12.16.2006 11:44 AM

I would def. make him send me the name of the guy coming to get the package from you, then make him show you his id and sign for the package.. myself I wouldn't loose any sleep over it..lol

That is just screwed up, but then again, 'most' American's are miserable, arrogant jerks ... no offense, but that is a great truth.

Arrogant I'll grant you; but "miserable"?

@nbcaz: Be careful with this guy; he doesn't sound right. He seems to be overreacting to something that's really not a big deal. Maybe he's trying to scare you or something. Can't imagine why, but it's hard to say.

The next time a "cop" calls you, ask for a badge number, name, and city/state. If he gives you this info, you can call the police in that area and check. If he doesn't give you this, tell him you will be calling the police in your area and reporting him because I think impersonating an officer is a crime. :dft012:

Af far as meeting his "cousin", be careful. Get something from the guy (perferably in writing, but an email should be OK) saying that this cousin will be representing him. Then, make up an invoice you both can sign and make sure to have two copies; one for him and one for you. If possible, bring someone with you, preferably someone older (30's-40's) as a witness and in case things get weird.

Personally, I'd just express ship the thing and get it over with.

zeropointbug 12.16.2006 03:05 PM

Well, that's just my experience with most Americans. Don't get me wrong, there are lot's of wonderful, and brilliant people in the States. But i would say 90%, i don't want to have anything to do with them...

nbcaznmaster 12.16.2006 03:15 PM

He was a real cop, showed me his badge and everything. So he was serious bout it.

BrianG 12.16.2006 03:24 PM

@zero: Where are you from? And where in the US did you meet these inpersonable individuals??

@nbcaz: Then he's just pushing his weight around. Some cops tend to take themselves too seriously or become simple bullies. Especially small-town cops.

Mike.L 12.16.2006 04:29 PM

sucks to be in that kind of position.

Sylvester 12.16.2006 04:54 PM

So did you get it straighened out nbcazn? P.s mike.l, when are you gonna up date your sig.? :p

Well that kinda proofs my point...

BrianG, I live in Canada, I have just had alot of experience like that... i should also mention that Canada is leaning that way too, still alot better however. But once I think about it, most of the world, people are generally unhappy; mostly because of this society and the way it's setup, a side-effect so to speak. It makes people angry, that's just what i find.

nbcaznmaster 12.16.2006 06:14 PM

everythign worked otu fine, but he said taht he needed it by sunday for work? 22" in the police office? lol, watever.

squeeforever 12.16.2006 06:52 PM

22" what?

jhautz 12.16.2006 07:14 PM

Sounds like an idiot to me. Thats the unfortunate thing about the internet... They let any idiot use it... Same thing about cops... There is no idot check before they let someone have a badge.

Most are NOT bad, but the bad ones are worse than some criminals IMO. Sounds like he is on some kind of power trip to me.

Just forget about it, Making any waves will get you nowhere and just make a huge hassle for you. Sucks though, would like to see those abusing power like that get what they deserve...

Yeah, and pretty much anyone in sales, including businesses, get into those predicaments occasionally. There are nasty people out there that make you wonder why they haven't been beat silly.

@zero: Yeah, I can understand that. I've found that the closer you live to a bigger city, the worse it is.

I think your right Brian. I live in Baton Rouge, no big city despite its the capitol of La, but people around here are generally pretty nice, even in the Big Easy. Actually, people in New Orleans are some of the most hospitiable I've met before, and the big NO is pretty large.... But when I went to D.C. for a field trip, no lie, 90% of them were assholes...Not saying thank you when you hold the door for them, or not saying excuse me when the bump into you, etc...

natrix 12.16.2006 08:43 PM

So did you ship the thing out yet or not?

Sylvester 12.16.2006 09:03 PM

Hey zero, your from Canada too, eh? :005: Where are you located? i too agree that some parts of canada are starting to "worsen" just like parts of the U.s > really is a sad thing.

coolhandcountry 12.16.2006 11:15 PM

Well cops have bosses as well. They have to answer to higher up officers.
I think he was pushing the weight around some.

nbcaznmaster 12.16.2006 11:38 PM

Tru, i think threating some1 with the law is the LAST STEP.

phildogg 12.17.2006 09:25 AM

if you know his name and number call his supervisor,I'm sure they don't like their people threatening other people with the fact he is a cop.
phil

zeropointbug 12.17.2006 02:32 PM

Sylvester, I'm from Saskatchewan. Yes, I AM A 'GAPPER' , Saskatchewan is the best kept secret on earth. Literally! :027: And we don't even have to do anything...

Serum 12.17.2006 03:07 PM

Zero.. American people arrogant?

that's funny...

@ncabz; the cops don't call you for shipping something 1 day too late..

it's just a funny person who is trying to squeeze the living S out of you.. And apparently his intimidating behavior worked..

coolhandcountry 12.17.2006 06:38 PM

yeah I think it did. As for the cop. Get badge number and stuff and report him to higher up.
