Looks very nice orange! Also welcome to the forums!
|
Great!
Somebody should make a conversion of a Kyosho or Mugen truggies, also. |
Hello together
My Name is Stefan, I come form Germany, Usualy I´m a Modell Flyer but by using the BL and Lipo Technoloy I got back an nearly 20 Jears old RC Car Virus :-) ! I´m also building a BL SS Hellfire in this Moment ! But I´M still waiting for my LI`FE Cells and my Outrunner Motor ! You don´t use the Middel Diff and the Brackes ! do You think it´s possible to have a good Bracke in this Size of Car without using the mechanikal Breake ! Witch Motor´s and how many Cells do U want to use !? How iss Our Gear Setup !? First I want to use the org. Gear and Middel Diff Unit ! Thanx a Lot and excuse me for my English , Best Regards Stefan |
Hi Erkan! welcome!
yes, the mechanical brake is an option, but it is not a problem to use the motor-brake. I would personally not use a solid centershaft. it will put much more stress on the drivetrain /front/rear diffs. It would be the easiest to use a Kyosho 46T spur and choose a motor with the right KV. an outrunner is not very good for a car. I would take an inrunner instead. Since a relative heavy part is far away from the centre the motor will take longer to spin up and down. |
Thanx
I tryed the Flyware REX 220/3000 ( 30 Gramm Outrunner with 3000 Umin/per Volt) in my Asso RC 18 and on 3 1200 Polyquest XP it works phantastic ! So I´m a Outrunner fan and I know the good Sides of Using a Outrunner ! I´m not shure if it works in bigger Cars as well but I think so ! The next week I will know it - by trying ! Greet´s Stef |
I am not saying that it doesn't work; I am saying an inrunner would most likely work better.

It's my first 1:8 truggy and even first time modify the GP to EP. As I use the centre gear box from e-maxx, it had a slipper clitch build in. The battery will use 2 X 3200 LiPo from peak racing for test. I have no idea for the rest of BL and ESC as there's not really popular stuff in Hong Kong. BTW, any other suggestion for those EP device is welcome. But please also let me know the link for detail or even the online shop I can buy. THANKS |
Do you mean as the stock titans would run?
That is going to be to much. If you mean the ratio of the hv maxx recommends. That would work alot better. |

Ok. The hellfire has a 3.31 diff front and rear ratio.
The maxx has a 2.87. So you could start on the higher side of the chart. |

Finished assembly. Hope have time to test and setup next week. |
Nice
|
Looks great! Now put some lipo in there, a real Brushless setup and it will be a great machine! But im sure it will be pretty good on what your running now, too!
|
looks beautifull! Really complimenting you budd and Welcome to the fourms!
|
Very nice! Now, is it faster than the Nitro version? :)
|
Re:Sylvester
Yes, the setup fit Stick pack Li-Po. After the test with everything ok. Will get them in mass. Re:Mike L. Thanks Re fiero_silva Don't know yet it will faster than Nitro version or not. I do this project just want to leave those Nitro maintain problem away as I'm not a frequent player. Till that moment I'm still a EP die hard fans. Just a bit worry the run time can't compare with Nitro version. And charging Li-po (especially hi cap.) will require quite sometime. |

Re: Mike.L
at the moment I use Orion Advantage charger. And peak racing 3200mAH (HKD5XX, approx. USD70) Any other suggestion? Better the size can fit normal 7.2V stick pack. |

Hi guyīs
My E Hellfire iss know nearly ready also and I want to show You soon some Pictures of My Work ! I use only original Partīs and a Outrunner Motor ! the Batteries I use are 8 S Li Fe,rebuild from Elektric Tool Batterie Pack and fit as Saddel Pack - they are fastchargeable but have only 2300 Mah ! I dont know how my system works but i want to try it the next Dayīs ! The Weight iss know 4,5 KG ! i Also Use the org. Brake System becaus I donīt want to kill my Flight Controler ( Hacker Master 90 Acro COmp ). The center of gravity is realy low ! Oki, Greetīs Stefan |
Nice Erkan! Hows that outrunner working for you? That is a BIG esc!
|
Nice!
|
Hi
i donīt know how this Motor will work in the Hellfire ! it has only 700upm per Volt but there is an other avaible with 900 ! I use a 20 tooth Motor Gear so i think it will work ! Stef |
I don't think outrunners are well suited for cars. I don't think they are responsive like inrunners. They are made for a rather set RPM, not for a constant variation.
|
Yea, jhautz said it wasnt the best, he said it felt more like a nitro than a electric.
|
Very nice work. Should be a blast!!
|
did i mention i love hellfires think i already did NICE!
|
Hey Guys
Know my Hellfire is running ! The System works very well ! I drove over 10 minuts and know i have to discharge the Batterties to have a Vwie how mutch Energie I realy needed ! The Topspeed iss not to fast so i will try the 900 Upm Motor in a vew Day´s ! The komplet Engine System iss after this Time still cold !!! One Problem iss the 20 Tooth Pinion Motor Gear, I fixed it with a Rc Plane part with a konus and this iss not made for these kind of Power ! I think I must order a 20 tooth M1 Pinion in your Shop ! Are there outher Pinions ( 24 Tooth etc avaible ) !? Kind regards Stefan |
I think that Mike can make 22T and 24T pinions as a special order. Send him an email. He should be able to help you out.
|
Hi
i have got the same project hellfire + feigaoXL +16 cells but I do not know how installed elements on the chassis |
Well, you want to try to have equal weight on each side of the chassis as well as in the front and back. If you don't already have a motor mount, you can email Mike about making you one, or another member if they can make you one. Most likely, there will be 1 battery on each side of the chassis. Then the motor can be on the left, right or above the differential. After this, it is just where ever you have room for the reciever, ESC, etc.
I suggest search for soe pictures of already done brushless hellfire's. |
thank you very much
i don t have a motor mount for the moment but y want to take a simple in L like that : http://dentaltech.us/images/rc/blrevo/DSC00027.jpg do you know how many millimeters i have to use for the Thickness ? thank you very mutch bye |
The "L" shaped mount would work great. The thickness will depend on if there is much chassis flex. 3mm seems to work well for many people, and should give you enough support. Although, sometimes, people will make it even stiffer and go up 5mm. It just depends.
|
OK thank you I am going to make it 4mm :027:
For batteries I do not know if I takes Sanyo, GP or Intellect , you think of it what? And how much of mah? thanks |
Well, the ultimate set up would be with lipo batteries, but that may be out of your budget. So gp3300's, 3600's, 3800's, ib4200's. GP and IB batteries seem to be the best when you are running nimh batteries.
|
OK thank you I am going to take IB 4200 as for the motor and of the controller there is no risk ?
