what do you guys think i should do

OK i have one stock emaxx and a couple of hopups already collected for it here is what i have got in the picture. (note diffs are stock as well as knuckles and shock posts)

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1167933745

I also have a long list of stuff still needed to complete it so it is race worthy and it wont break when i bash it here are the parts i still need for it.

1.) GorillaMaxx G2 graphite x-brace chassis $200
2.) GorillaMaxx G2 graphite chassis extension $45
3.) GorillaMaxx G3 XL battery straps $15
4.) GorillaMaxx G3 titanium hinge pin set $25
5.) GorillaMaxx G3 front skid plate $21
6.) Unlimited Engineering gen 4 steering assembly $85
7.) RD Logics Steering Blocks (Blue) $60
8.) RC Monster custom slipperiential with $160
9.) RC Monster cnc machine speed control heat sink $30
10.) RC Monster mod 1 pinion carbon steel 18T $12
11.) RC Monster motor heat sink XL size $35
12.) RC Monster ubec $40
13.) Full Force T-Maxx sealed bearing kit $37
14.) Proline 17mm Standard velocity wheels (White) $30
15.) Proline standard size crime fighter tires $62
16.) Proline team medium CA glue $7
17.) Traxxas revo slipper pressure plate $7
18.) Traxxas revo slipper clutch rebuild kit $7
19.) Traxxas revo spur gear 36T $3
20.) Unlimited Engineering 6mm CVDs
21.) Fast Lane Machine front and rear hybrid bulkheads $140
22.) Fast Lane Machine front and rear bulkhead brace $18
23.) HB diff set front and rear $125
24.) Atomic Racing Ford F-350 body with new school flames $35
25.) Feigao 540 7XL brushless motor $90
26.) Spectrum DX3.0 radio, receiver, and two servos $250
27.) Team Orion platinum 4800 liy-poly Batteries $300
28.) E-Cleck-Teck 40mm 5v fan (2) $6
29.) Super brain 989 Charger $140
30.) Associated black grease $7
31.) Associated 15k diff oil $4
32.) Associated 10k diff oil $4

This is a lot of stuff and comes to be alot of money if i had to guess it would be over 2 grand. Then i thought i could solve this problem buy using my money a buying the erevo converson from RC monster. it cost a lot less than than the maxx and i can use some parts that i already have like quark 125b, the punisher rods for the steering and rear knuckles, the 17mm hex hubs, and the screw kit. I can also use the other spare parts like the Flextek arms, FLM shock towers, wing and mount, and the integy shocks on my stock emaxx i have laying around. I also have some extra rims and tires sitting around with all this together all i will need to complete the revo is a motor (like a 7XL 90 bucks) body, radio, and batteries. and this all together will be much less than the emaxx project. Out of this i will achieve less price, better handling, a for sure running car, better reliability, excellent basher right out of the box with minimal upgrades(rpm arms and such), 2 running cars stock maxx with Flextek arms, integy shocks, wing, and shock towers and Brushless erevo all at about 1 third of the price of the all decked out revo, and this extra cash will allow me to spend more cash on other Brushless projects like Brushless 1/8 truggys and or buggys. What do you guys think. (By the way i have just enough money for the revo so if i did spend that on the max instead i would not even be able to complete a roller)

Do the Revo! I been thinking about doing one myself

MetalMan 01.04.2007 11:50 PM

GorillaMaxx360 01.04.2007 11:55 PM

I have a revo and a max. Love them both. But for the $$$ The revo is a awesome machine.

Just do the revo. How can you go wrong. PLus you get it sooner... Like now:018:

cemetery gates 01.05.2007 12:17 AM

I would go revo, then sell some of the maxx hop-ups you have (like flex tech arms and integy shocks) for more money to put into your revo...

Bye:018:

Sounding like the revo wins by slaughter rule :D

But just to confuse things a little.... I cant think of anything prettier than a tricked out Maxx... (or more expensive)

bdebde 01.05.2007 01:18 AM

So let us know how the revo turns out!

GorillaMaxx360 01.05.2007 02:06 AM

Yeah i will have pics i pretty much decided before i posted this thread i just wanted to see what you guys think. but the pics will be a lot sooner than the maxxes would have that might have been a 2 year project this is a few months tops.(A Lot Cheaper

BP-Revo 01.05.2007 02:13 AM

Clean out your PM box GorillaMaxx360..its full..I cant send you anything.

GorillaMaxx360 01.05.2007 02:18 AM

its good

jollyjumper 01.05.2007 04:10 AM

why would you need the bearing kit? with tsais 3.3 cvds you also need 3.3 knuckles.
also, i agree with these guys that you should be doing a revo.:005:

revopqrs 01.05.2007 11:48 AM

well let me know if your gonna sell any cool maxx stuff!!:005:

Mike.L 01.05.2007 12:07 PM

yeah, revo!

neweuser 01.05.2007 12:41 PM

My opinion is different than others here, but cost wise, Revo would be a better bet. I just love the maxx!

i know i do not need this stuff but i feel if i would build this project maxx i should replace it because i have broke the same parts (only stock) on my stock emaxx so why shoouldnt i replace them in a higher grade quality. But i do need to fix that list because some things have changed.

jollyjumper 01.05.2007 01:33 PM

i dont understand you.
i mean, why need stock size bearings if you go to slipperential, 1/8th diff and tsais cvds with 3.3 knuckels?
you wont need any of em cuz there all smaller then what you need?!?

The HB diffs are for the diff case not the slipperential as for the cvd also are for the wheels not the slipperiential.

I am not sure what you are saying exactly but i changed the list a bit i would not need the tsais cvds i would just plain need cvds because with hb diffs sliders or stock cvds will not fit on the hb diffs because they come with built in drive cups meaning i need cvds. As for the tasis ones i changed m mine i would just go with the 6mm ue ones because they are stronger. As for the knuckles i dont need revo ones i can use standard maxx size but i figured for the same price as the standard size knukles i can get the revo ones for many reason of adjustability. First if i decide to go with a different diff than hb i could possably use sliders and these knuckles would allow me to use them. Also these knuckes are cool and they are the same price so i figured why not get them but this is a minor controversy in the list. as for the bearing kit it is a full bearing kit. So i can use some bearings for the pinion gears and diffs inside the diff cases, i can also use them for the knuckles because they are sealed they give me longer life and they work better. These are minor mods on the list that i probably dont need but if i was spending the money alredy it is not going to hurt me to get this stuff. Plus even if this stuff was not on the list the same decision would probably be made because it is still a lot of money.

jollyjumper 01.05.2007 02:05 PM

oh i see, sorry bout the mess up.
how do like the stuff you got so far?

GorillaMaxx360 01.05.2007 02:09 PM

it cool. The stuff i got so far is good but after all the stuff i got probably 600 or so bucks worth the thing i like the best is the 11 dollar wing.

jollyjumper 01.05.2007 02:13 PM

wich wing is that, cuz for a pro-line we easely pay 20 euro's here at the shops.

GorillaMaxx360 01.05.2007 02:19 PM

It is a GS Wing and GS wing Mounts they both fit the FLM shock towers the wing was 11.99 US dollars and the mount was 7.99 us.

jollyjumper 01.05.2007 02:20 PM

yeah, gs is a little cheaper.

GorillaMaxx360 01.05.2007 02:35 PM

i know it is gs and nobody really loves them not even i am a big fan but man for half the price from a distance nobody can tell 1 and 2 it is the same design exept on the proline it may be a little bit more straight, but 3/4 of you guys saw it it would appear to be the same wing as the others built cost half the price.
I still like proline though

neweuser 01.05.2007 02:38 PM

I use the Mugen wing and mount, same with sjcrss (he gave me the link awhile back), it works great. I have beat the crap out of it too, still going strong!

GorillaMaxx360 01.05.2007 02:45 PM

this wing i have is also very strong. the wing mounts and shocktowers (FLM) go very well togeather when i bolted the shhocktower up them the mounts then the wing they were so strong the wing/wingmounts felt like part of the shock tower. very strong wing and mounts.

Pliska 08.29.2007 02:56 PM

Build the revo, The maxx would be cool but the revo will cost alot less and you can put that money elsewhere

squeeforever 08.29.2007 08:15 PM

He already built the Maxx several months ago...

BlackedOutREVO 08.29.2007 08:20 PM

Revo!

supralover72 08.29.2007 08:56 PM

I like the Maxx. It's just so much cooler. Everyone has an E Revo these days.

But, for the money, REVO.

zeropointbug 08.30.2007 12:27 AM

Go for your maxx truck GM360! I really like your truck, one of the nicer maxx trucks.... wait, mine is almost identical! hehe

You won't be disappointed with it, they are more versatile as far as space available.

Keep at it man!

lincpimp 08.30.2007 12:39 AM

I actually sold my revo and kept the Emaxx. I just bash my MTs so the Revo was too much for me, plus I must have at least 3 emaxxs worth of spares!!!

However I am not in the same league as you guys, my emaxx looks like a stocker with a bl motor and lipo, no fancy al or special chassis. Wish it did though!!
