slipperentials

are they ready yet. Also I believe Procharged was working on a slipper, any word on that one?

Serum 02.01.2007 07:01 AM

Yes, check the store, under rc-monster parts, you´ll see them. Procharged has got a slipper, not a differential. Mike is currently working on a slipper-diff in one.. it should be the bomb IMO. Nice for buggies and truggies!

turbo4 02.01.2007 12:33 PM

The slipper diffs are what I was asking about, not the transmissions. Anyway, my stock emaxx slipper is shot. What are my choices and which would be the best for the stock chassis?

As far as the RC monster store, whats the deal with everthing out of stock, its been like that for a while.

thanks

If you are running a stock e-maxx trans then my slipper will do you alot of good. Look for the post from the other day detailing the product & for pics (LINK BELOW). Other choices are the Robinson Racing Products slipper (I've used it with success) and the Strobe sold here at RC-M.

Looks good, what is the size of the spur? What kind of price? I can't read the writing its to small. Thanks.

Procharged5.0 02.01.2007 12:58 PM

Try clicking on the image and maximizing your window. It should be easily readable.

Spur choices are 48t/49t/50t/51t/52t

Price has not been set yet but will be soon. Expect $60 for the Standard Version and $85 - $90 for the PRO version.

Yes, I can read it now. I was trying to read the one you posted in the link, that one will not maximize enough.

What pitch will these Spurs be? 32 or Mod?

Hi

What pitch will these Spurs be? 32 or Mod? Also one more question , what advantage in terms of performance will these be over the RRP Dbl disc setup.. I'm assume torque control as traxxas states with their Revo and Maxx 3.3 vehicles..

Cheers

Procharged5.0 02.01.2007 06:47 PM

Hi Kiwi. Welcome to the RC-Monster forums.

The Spur gear will be MOD-1 to match up with most brushless motor pinions.

I do not have a 32P gear available at this time but MOD1 pinions are available in 1/8", 4mm, and 5mm bores.

Torque control, stronger input shaft, stronger gear to shaft attachment, better gear selection, and with the PRO model lower friction & wear, stronger spur, cooler operation.

Hi

Thanks very much,

I'm sold if there is a 1/8 bore Mod1 10 tooth Pinion. Don't think Mike sells them.

neweuser 02.01.2007 06:57 PM

Mike can get one or make one though! :)

BP-Revo 02.02.2007 03:22 AM

With Mike, if he doesn't have something, he will get it; if he can't get it, he will make it; if he can't make it, he will get it made. Either way he takes care of you :)

So what is the difference between all the slippers anyway. I mean the conventional location vs the tranny vs the diffs. Which one do I need?

As far as the pitch in gears goes what are we talking about exactly. Mod 1....what the heck is that? All I know is that the stock ones on my emaxx are 32 but I dont even know what that means.

As you can tell Im very ignorant about the r/c trucks. Im just trying to learn.

Thanks, J.

Mod 1 pitch is big. Basically, the pitch means the size of teeth. The bigger the number, the smaller the teeth. Mod 1 is bigger than 32 pitch, more durable.
As for tranny's and slippers. One with a center diff (slipperential) distributes the power more evenly, the one that Mike is selling and designed is morefor racing but can be used for bashing too. What you need depends on what you drive. Are you a racer? Are you a basher?

Procharged5.0 02.02.2007 01:09 PM

Nice job keeping it simple Newe!

I'm thinking a "Serumesque" overview on the Basics of Slippers, transmissions, and diffs is in order.

I'd love to do one if I can find the time. I actually want to put one together to "sell" the advantages of the HSR Motorsports SUPER SLIPPER PRO and for Mike's Slipperential.

turbo4 02.02.2007 01:13 PM

I just bash, and thats really not that often. Im married with kids and cant spend much time playing. But when I do I dont like being held up with broken parts. I like to go fast and jump. What I want is a brushless proof truck before the monster mamba max is released. My stock slipper on my stock emaxx is toast. The pegs are flush with the spur. I though I would just get some new pegs and a stiffer spring(MGT) as someone suggested as its a cheap way out. however I would really like to solve the problem, not just bandaid it. So I see there are many slippers out or soon to be, but dont really know what to pursue. I dont care about bling, Im looking for parts that work and can take a beating. With that said can you help me find what Im looking for?

neweuser 02.02.2007 01:19 PM

Sounds like you want the strobe slipper set up. If you look for the sticky on that, you should be fine. You'll need the mod 1 pinion for your bl motor, then the mod 1 spur, both are sold here in the store. I'd give links to all the itmes, but at work so have not the time, sorry man, but go to the store anyway, there is much there that can be had for good prices, and Mike is the man that can get anything you need if you do not see it there!

turbo4 02.02.2007 01:31 PM

Ive looked at the strobe but there seems to be some debate on parts availiability? Maybe that has changed, I dont know. Another thing about the "store" is most items say out of stock. The strobe may not be but I've browsed it many times an it seems a lot of items are out. I suppsose that frustrates me so I dont really consider buying there.

Try emailing Mike. For me, I really don't go anywhere else to purchase online if my lhs does not carry it. the only two times I do is batts, and little things for my jato or 18T cuz shipping is usually 1.50. But for my maxxes, I get everything from Mike. Can't lose!

So dont really pay attention to the store "supply" just call him?

neweuser 02.02.2007 03:02 PM

Call him or emial him. He stated on another thread that out of a hundred items or so, there are only about a dozen that our out of stock, and this is due to supplier generally. But shoot him an email or call, he'll take care of you one way or another.
