Xray T2 700
I was thinking about getting me a Xray and what brushless motors and esc do you guys recommend for an all out speed and power?
I was thinking about the Plettenberg Shadow, but any other suggestions? I have been out of it for a while so I have no idea on the new developments and etc. Thanks in advance. |
Xray sedan?
There's a bunch of choices to make a silly fast touring car. It's hard not to mention the obvious... Mamba Max. Motor choice according to the #cells you will be running. The plettys are nice no doubt... not too many of us have them to comment on. What exactly do you want to do with the car? |
I just thought I would complement my XRAY M18 with a 1/10 scale so between the 1/18 and the 1/5 scale I have on hold, it would be something to play with and more manageable in costs than a 1/5. Yeah Only thing I have done with my 1/5 is getting a custom body which I really have to say is Sweet. I do have some pics somewhere.
Anyhow. Well I am going Lipo on this one for sure like my 1/18 scale depending on what motor I get. What I want to do hmmm... Be Quick and Fast.. LOL.. I have the need to speed!!! Actually just a good solid runner/performer with speed and power as well. |
i have one.
t2 007 eu. i like it. its pretty much the best quality out there. but i drift it (well actually not, but in the future i will). |
MambaMax 5700 on 3s lipo is a cheap easy really fast setup... or the new MM 6900 on 3s, even faster.
There are a bunch of other motor/esc choices but I don't see doing anything else much better and certainly not cheaper. |
Or a 1920 6T would be amazing.
|
Hmmm I am thinking between the Plettenberg Shadow and a Lehner motor.
Hmmmm.. |
also look at the quark motor.:004:
|
I think the lehner would be nicer and more efficient. Hows your gmaxx doin chase? Been a while.
|
I remember (hee hee I think) a guy who ran a 1920 in a Super RS4... it was really fast, something lke 60+. I don't recall anything about the batteries, lol,or esc...
That was probably on radiocontrolzone a couple years ago... |
I would go with the Mamba Max ESC and a Plettenberg motor on 3S LiPo.
|
Can the Mamba Max handle a 4 poler?
|
Yup.
|
Well, the new ones can.
My recommendation is: 1920/4+ Team Tekin R1 Pro controller+ TrakPower 4900mah 2s1p lipo batteries |
That sounds like a great combo... someday. :)
|
Well, its the setup I'm saving for to put it in my future touring car. I've finally decided to get the Cyclone Moore Speed World edition.

Whats the Mamba controller's RPM limit for a 4 poler?
I was thinking in the lines of a Plettenberg Shadow and a U-Force 75. I know that the Shadow is 4 pole 600watt - 6200 RPM/V motor (probably unloaded RPM/V) with a 6-10 cell range with a 70,000 RPM limit quoted by Team Plettenberg when I asked what motor specs were in terms of Wattage - RPM/V - Cell Range - RPM Limit. I know that the U-Force has a limit of 60,000 RPM for a 4 poler so I will probably have to run a 2S or like 8 cells, but I would really like to try to run it on 3s, but I know someone tried it and it didn't work or something. |
they dont say on there site but i think i'm save when i say over 80k RPM for a 2 pole motor.
|
I hope that's 80K..
most controllers do 100-150K on a 2poler. while BK is sitting low with their micro 3095 and up series. (42K limit) |
well what i mean is some people have run mamba max system up to 80k rpm, but its not so safe for the motor.
so 80k rpm is sure fact. could easiely be a lot higher. |
