Sylvester 02.06.2007 10:25 AM

Looks good eh! ;) Imo ditch the aluminum arms and get rpm.

renny 02.06.2007 10:29 AM

NO WAY I snaped three of them at one time so I ditched them and went with these.Havent had a problem since.

Sylvester 02.06.2007 10:35 AM

Oh! I never broke a rpm arm, and i dont like aluminum arms when it comes to revos.. glad its working out for you, but you watch, one hard hit and BEND! ;)

renny 02.06.2007 10:48 AM

Racing or in my case I would have one bend then break, at least I can finish the day it just runs like hell
lolol (REALLLLLLLLLLLLLL wObLy)

AP Alex 02.06.2007 12:32 PM

What kind of rims are those?

jnev 02.06.2007 12:52 PM

Very, very nice. :004: :004:

Awesome job on it!!

renny 02.06.2007 01:26 PM

The rims are Maximizer Alum. beadlock rims. I paid about $180.00 per pair.
Like I said earlyier, I broke three rpm arms at one time but I also totaly demalished two rims and thats why I run alum. products now because even if something gets bent you can still run it just to finish the race or just bashing with the friends and your not watching your STILL RUNNING.

P.S. thanx RC

crazyjr 02.06.2007 03:06 PM

I have only managed to break three front arms in two years

Sylvester 02.06.2007 03:17 PM

@renny - if you bend aluminum, i understand you can continue to run, but what after, bend it back or buy another part?
@Larry - Those are stockers, right?
Have you guys seen the Vantage CF arms? They look Amazing.

renny 02.07.2007 01:07 AM

Yes you are right that after the day is done then yes I do have to get new parts and I was actualy thinking about trying those titainium arms.
Their twice as much but THREE times as strong.

renny 02.07.2007 03:42 AM

I just finished the first check of all of the electronics and everything passed.
NOW its time to deal with the tranny /no reverse/no brakes.
I`m using the stock chassis and the stock tranny.
I know that I have to get rid of first gear and then some how lock it up but I`ve never taken this tranny apart before SO....
WHAT DO I DO and HOW DO I DO IT????

BrianG 02.07.2007 11:54 AM

Just take the tranny apart and do the following:
  • Install the forward-only-conversion kit. This will greatly simplify the transmission and make it stronger. Plus, it'll weigh less.
  • Remove the first gear. It's the largest one. You won't need it and it'll further reduce weight.
  • You can do this mod, which has worked well for me, or you can use b0gh0s' adaptor thingy.
While you have the tranny apart, you might want to decide if you want to go with the narrow or wide ratio gear sets. Actually, since you remove first gear, there is no "ratio" anymore, but the second gear reduction ratio does change.

I sure feel sorry for your bulkheads! Id rather replace a $5 arm in 5 minutes than a $15 bulkhead in 30 minutes because my Titanium arm didnt flex when I cut to the inside a tad too tight. For a "race truck", it sure is heavy with all that aluminum on it!!!!!

renny 02.07.2007 06:04 PM

I weighed it last night after I did the conversion to the tranny and it came in at 14.23lbs but I also have the steel roll cage in it.
OUCH!!!

Sylvester 02.07.2007 06:10 PM

14lbs on a revo is HEAVY! You gotta go on a diet! LOL!

squeeforever 02.07.2007 06:25 PM

I'm gonna aim for 9lbs. when I get to revamp my E-Revo V2.0, soon to be V3.0. I think I'm gonna use that as a basher and just build a G2R or BPP Revo for racing...Not sure yet.

renny 02.08.2007 10:20 AM

yes its xtremely heavy thats why im a basher and not racing. If I was racing then the EVO would have to spend at least a month at the JENI CRAIGE resort but for bashing I could care less.

I do have a question though in regards to weight....
Why would I be able to do wheelies in reverse and not forward? I`ll explain

I can mash the gas in forward and all I get is a slight lift then mash it in reverse to brake, it stops then I`ll mash it in reverse and it will flip over "ass backwards"
This is a bit of a puzzler because I have the PURPLE ( 36.5 lb/in ) shock springs in the rear and the truck is VERY back heavy. If anything I should be able to pull a wheely for ten blocks without breaking a sweat but when I go into reverse it pulls it as if there was nothing on the back, not even a feather.
lol

renny 02.08.2007 10:43 AM

he he he ha ha ha
forget about the question about the whole wheely issue.
It started to get worse and worse and I kept thinking to my self WTF???
untill it hit me THE SLIPPER @#%^ OPPS!!!
I checked it out and sure enough it came loose so..........
skippit lol he he he ha ha ha rolmao

They look incredible! They look even sexier than UE arms!!!

I'm saving my pennies for those babies!

Sylvester 02.08.2007 05:09 PM

How much are they by the way? I cant seem to find them anymore. They look like the BEST racing arms for the revo out there.

Procharged5.0 02.08.2007 05:13 PM

Not available yet.

Sylvester 02.08.2007 05:17 PM

No ETA?

renny 02.09.2007 11:22 AM

Well Im sooooo glad I did this conversion.
This thing hooks up and lanches so hard its better than I would have ever expected and hoped for.
NOW the only real problem is the WIFE complaining about ALLLLL of the blackies on the lynolium OPPS!!!
I cannot waite for allll this white stuff outside to go away.
Its so tempting

:p What do you look like my e-revo ? :032:

BrianG 04.30.2007 11:14 AM

Nice! How does it drive?

A couple of suggestions though; your Deans plug (in 3rd pic) looks a little beat up. Also, if the metal on your trays is thick enough, you can countersink the screws so they won't wear into your batteries. What are you using for batteries?

Thanks ! No problem, I have lot of deans, I can change them if need :dft012: I do something for screws, its not big problem:dft009: I will use 2 x maxamps 7.4v 10 000mAh LiPos in revo, thats mean 14.8v with my wiring.

jnev 04.30.2007 06:42 PM

Your Revo looks great. With those 10,000 batteries, you'll be driving forever. :027:

Love your Revo man, but don't waste money on a G-maxx if it already runs right. How about a vantage revo carbonfiber chassis then just doing the same mods you did to stock? That would be LIGHT.

E-Revolution 06.02.2007 12:39 PM

Maybe carbon fiber if I get money.

Nice!! A 10,000mah pack... what kind of run times do you get with it?

Procharged5.0 06.05.2007 10:27 AM

Looks great. How is that 10,000 MAH pack working for you?

They works very fine:027: I have problems with motor, BK wanderer 6xl is too hot when I drive couple of minutes in asfalt or every where. But now I have been waiting my new BK Wanderer 8xl motor, I think that motor is cooler than this one. My esc is warm but not so hot than motor. I have 18T 32P pinjon and 70T spurr gear.

Good, 1 hour of runtime doesn't sound too bad.. :) that is with the hot 6 or with the 8XL?

Have you got a black box or an eagletree system? i am curious what these packs do under load.
