thx

(ik that brown looking one is a hawk and i doubt thas vintage but im just wondering!!)

Re~Mix 02.17.2007 11:59 AM

I suggest cleaning everything up so it looks in better condition. A lot of RC'ers collect old models and will pay a lot for them.

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 12:33 PM

well of course id clean it up but i dont want to put something on ebay thats not worth anything uk?

i mean i dont wanna get no 5000 dollars for the truck... 50 bucks would be cool with me!!

might justput everything up as a whole

Re~Mix 02.17.2007 12:47 PM

I'd put the rc10 up seperately at least. You should be able to get a decent amount of money.

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 12:56 PM

thas the orange one right?

i got most of the parts at my house so ill try and put it back together.

o and your sig doesnt work.

jhautz 02.17.2007 01:59 PM

That one with the orange tub chassis is an old RC10. That will draw a few bucks Im sure. Thats a classic! The other stuff???????

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 02:09 PM

ya i figrued the orange one would but i just wanted to be sure!!

BrianG 02.17.2007 02:16 PM

The suspension of the bottom car in the second pic looks interesting...

glassdoctor 02.17.2007 02:21 PM

A gold tub rc10 is worht a few bucks, but I don't know about the one you have... it's not even close to running condition. There's a ton of old rc10s like this. A mint condition is worht 100's and a new-in-box original is well over 1000 bucks. A buddy of mine has one still in shrink.

Those are some cool old chassis though... the one with the trailing arm rear suspension I think is a J&L conversion. I can't remember who did the shallow pan tub.

IMO the best bet is to clean em up good and list them all at the same time on ebay. Someone might want all of it... for restoring and parts.

Cool old stuff, imo. If I didn't have all the conversion projects already, I would be collecting a few old r/cs... I want an old kyosho javelin...

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 02:34 PM

dont know what that is... lol

im going to try and get the rc10 running. i got most the parts just dont really know where everything goes lol...

why is it worth so much? is it even nice?

glassdoctor 02.17.2007 02:38 PM

I meant to say that what you have is NOT mint condition. It's been used... it's not a closet or shelf queen.

It needs to be like new... an unpainted body... unused tires, etc make it worth $$

no idea what these are worth... wild guess is 50-100 as is on ebay. But it's been a couple years at least since I looked on ebay at this stuff.

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 03:13 PM

well i wouldnt midn getting 50 bucks. thats good with me!!

should i sell the rc10 by itself then sell everything elsein bulk?

heres some more pics letme know what i should start the auctions at!

also got some rims and tires for the rc10... lol

Thats an old Alec & Lane trailing arm set up. they were impressive in their day. It was created because of Losi's 5 link suspension. Just curious, how many of you have been around long enough to have seen an old Losi? For those interested, the gray tub is a nitro hawk, the blue engine goes with it

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 06:24 PM

yai knewabout that hawk stuff i just wasnt sure about te other stuff

yeah... I said J&L... meant A&L :D

I still have some old losi 5 links around from the one I had. That was a pretty cool car.

BrianG 02.17.2007 07:54 PM

I guess I'm still a newbie - the earliest "new" R/C I remember is the Revo.

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 08:51 PM

lol earliest ive seen and drove is that nitro hawk! wasnt very fast....

crazyjr 02.17.2007 09:03 PM

That was nitro stadium trucks in their infancy, before people paid attention to things like quality and porting. I wish i were doing a rc10 project, the chassis with the swingarm setup would make a good period racer.

Glassdoctor, I got a JRXT i got on EBay for a restoration project

phildogg 02.17.2007 10:03 PM

hey T-maxx racer there is a guy over on ultimatetraxxas.com wanting a gold tub..look in the wanted section.
phil

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 10:26 PM

:D grasshopper

crazyjr 02.17.2007 10:53 PM

I was thinking Hornet, but with the knowledge of brushless he has, we should call him a Frog :027: .

Mike.L 02.17.2007 11:32 PM

man it makes it look really old when there is a revo 3.3 box beside it:p

t-maxxracer32 02.17.2007 11:42 PM

lol thats my newest truck!! gotta love it!

Every now and then you'll see some Javelin parts go up on eBay. I've owned a couple Optima's and they really can't take that much abuse. Your best bet would probably be to get get an rtr Optima and work on getting the Javelin pieces seperatly.
Back in the day I originally wanted a Tamiya Hotshot but ended up investing in the Optima instead. My buddies mostly had Tamiya cars like the Frog, Hornet, Subaru Brat, and Grasshopper. I had the Optima and another friend had the original RC10. Ah, the 80's...

glassdoctor 02.18.2007 09:06 AM

:)
I wanted a Hotshot and Boomerang back in the day.

A couple years ago I wtche ebay a lot for Optima/Javelin and Ultima stuff. I passed up some nice stuff. Kinda wish I would have got one. There were some people paying a pretty penny.. collecting and restoring these.

The car that got me interested in the hobby was a Frog... kid at school had one wiht a hot motor and street tires. it was sweet, back then. He also had an Optima later.

t-maxxracer32 02.18.2007 10:47 AM

my dad got me into it with some really old chain driven buggies!

i got them working last year but i cant find them anyore...

seth556 02.20.2007 07:14 PM

I saw one of those Losi 5-link suspension trucks at my LHS once. It was in the used clean out bin they had. Some of the parts weren't on the truck but came with it. They ended up selling it for $20. Man oh man I wish I had bought it along with the Kyosho buggy they had.

joeling 02.21.2007 01:45 AM

Hi,

Ah the Hotshot brings back memories. It's my first rc. Unfortunately, mom threw it away after I moved out during a period when I lost interest in the hobby. Luckily, she left my Optima Mid & Clodbuster alone. The Optima mid is a musuem piece now while the clod is still going strong serving as a basher for my 5 year old.

Regards,
Joe Ling

I had a madbull for my first proper RC- hardly vintage but the design is somewhat basic and old fashioned.... then I looked at those pics; antiques man. Yep, gather up all the rc10 bits and give 'em a clean, then flog that on ebay as one lot. As for the rest, gather them up and try to seperate them into different models, but sell them as one big lot. I reckons that sounds like a plan.
