Yep, that was on Topgear in the UK a couple weeks ago. It was simply amazing to watch captain slow driving that thing. "At full speed the tires only last 17 minutes, but thats okay because it will run out of fuel in 14", not all that economical but I'd sell my mother to get one (sorry mum).

Wow, that is insane. I'd kill to drive one of those things on an open stretch of road... with no cops of course, lol.

Actually, tires only last ~15 minutes at full speed, and the fuel only lasts 12 at full throttle.

Its an awesome car, but its just too expensive...

For 225K, you can get a Henessey Viper with over 1000hp at the wheels.

I agree... sorta. My dream car is an older style Viper (before the 'vette wanna-be days), but there's just something damn sexy about the Veyron. They both have the power, but the Bugatti has the finesse as well.

Of all the insanity. I think if I went that fast in a car I'd be too busy wizzing myself to be thinking about all that other stuff. What are those things going for? Got to be over a mil for something like that.

when you absolutely gotta have the fastest car in the world,....accept no substitutes. I actually prefer the corvette Z06 more usable horsepower. and it's cheaper, still can't afford it but cheaper, I'll be lucky to afford the new camaro when it comes out in 2009.

I'm no cop, but considering you'd be traveling at almost 4 times the speed limit, I'd say you'd have an all expense paid trip to the house of bars...

I wouldn't worry about it since they would never be able to keep up..

Now that I watch the video, I think I have seen that car before, I just forgot the name of it.

I think it is pretty sweet. They now have to make one that is capable offroad, and I think they'll be very popular.

Make it RC and it will be even more fun.... RC 1:1 scale electric rock crawling; I like the sound of that. The Tesla has an official website somewhere, but specific details of how it works are not really mentioned- seriously cool car though.

They say it uses Li-ion batteries, I think each cell has a casing, and if one cell is damaged it won't damage the cells around it, apparently.

I don't know exactly what the fine will be. But I do know that someone did ~250mph in a 35mph zone with a Y2K motorcycle (its a bike powered by a Rolls Royce Jet Helicopter Engine) and the speeding ticket was over $10,000.

Well, considering he could afford the $1,000,000+ bike and the high quality jet fuel it required, he could easily afford the ticket.
