1st and 2nd runs = Disaster

Last weekend i finally got to take my gmaxx out. After about 5 minutes or so I saw smoke coming from the truck. I ran over and took the lid off. Here come to find that I almost completley melted through my spur gear. The slipper was too loose.

On Saturday I was was able to replace the spur gear and tightened the slipper all the way. The truck was fine then. So I was driving around the backyard taking it easy trying to get used to driving the maxx. I drives so different than my pede and rusty. I makes very wide turns. I dont know if that normal or if I have to make some adjustments. So anyway I was getting bored driving so cauction so I started getting trigger happy. Well it wasnt long after that I wrecked. I slammed into a treated 4x4 fence post that was cemented into the ground. Something had to give and it wasnt the post. Needles to say I have to rebuild work to do now.

Here is the damage done.

Snapped a RD Logic CVD
Bent the Upper Arm (Look kins of like a L)
Ripped the pillow ball right out of my RPM steering Block
Unglued all 4 tires from my rims.

Luckily I have the new version of the G# upper arms I havent put on yet. I hope that the RPM steering block is still useable. I will just have to get a new CVD and check out my steering bellcrank. I recently installed the Proline servo saver and am running the Hitec 645MG.

I will see about getting some pics of the damage.

:W:

You need more ROOM for that truck!!

Got the truck 'online' again?

MaxxFusion 06.21.2005 07:42 AM

No not yet. I hope to get some time this week and get her fixed up. I need to adjust my steering too. It seems like its turning too wide.

Weak servo? Or somethings binding.

polarisguy6490 06.25.2005 10:05 AM

monster trucks do turn a lot wider than stampedes my friend had a stampede and it tured really sharp. You just have to get used to it i think. Otherwise what braaap said is probably the cause. (something binding/ weak servo)

MaxxFusion 06.25.2005 12:19 PM

Its not a weak servo. Its a Hitec 645MG and I took it out of my pede.

Its most likely my pillow balls. I need to loosen them up a bit.

braaap11889 06.25.2005 05:02 PM

loosen them and see if it works. The 625 aint the best servo for a MT get a stronger one like the 200oz airtronics or hiteccs new titanium gear servos peace out

gcurtis2121 07.02.2005 05:10 PM

servo saver

Hey MaxxFusion, are you using a servo saver with that servo? And if so, what kind? I've got the same servo, and even though it's got metal gears, I'd rather not destroy it!

MaxxFusion 07.02.2005 05:42 PM

I have the Proline servo saver. Its great for the price if you can find one.

gcurtis2121 07.02.2005 05:53 PM

Thanks, I'll go looking for one now.

braaap11889 07.02.2005 10:52 PM

Just so you know they have been discountinued.

MaxxFusion 07.03.2005 02:05 PM

Yes. That is why I said if you can find one.

Here is a used one.

maxxdude1234 07.03.2005 02:12 PM

I believe they can only be run on the T-MAXX and Sport-MAXX, does anyone know about this? Anyone run one on an E-MAXX, if so, I'm getting one of these.

MaxxFusion 07.03.2005 02:16 PM

I believe on the stock emaxx chassis you will have to hack off the plastic stand offs. Its been a while since I had a stock chassis.

Cheers, just had a look a the chassis and saw what you meant - that shouldn't be a problem.

PS. check this link, brand new pro-line servo savers for 25$ and MIP cvd's for 18$ !!!!!! - I'm guessing they were stolen off the back of a lorry....:L: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...37631&tc=photo

squeeforever 07.03.2005 04:26 PM

lorry?

Nick 07.03.2005 06:50 PM

You don't know what a lorry is? :D

Don't tell him, want to make this moment last, lol.

squeeforever 07.04.2005 12:52 AM

sorry im not a britty

Serum 07.04.2005 03:42 AM

Me neither (no britty), but a lorry is a truck. We use the word lorrie (speak out as lorry) for some kind of crane.

Nick 07.04.2005 07:03 AM

Intresting. Good thing you didn't think the goods on eBay were stolen off a crane then. :)

Thinking of a new stearing rack for my Maxx as those white washers keep poping out.

RC-Monster Mike 07.04.2005 09:47 AM

If the bushings are popping out, then something is missing! What bell cranks are you using?

coolhandcountry 04.20.2006 06:58 PM

This explains the one odd arm on the truck. I understand now what happened frank.

markland556 06.14.2006 01:05 PM

Well im glad you at least had some fun with it. I was in the same situation as you, then i flipped the truck and i had a body half assed on there and snapped all the body posts. Soon after my ESC started to thermal out, time for some work.. LOL
Just remember to have fun!

If your transmitter is adjustable you can make it turn tighter. I have a MX3 and It makes mine turn tight.

coolhandcountry 06.14.2006 05:58 PM

Hey dooley. The truck has been parted and sold now. I got it and now it is sold to another person.
