revo acting strange... NEW PROBLEM..
hey got a little video of the problem i have encountered!! i got bored of my rusty again and decdied to get everything in the revo but for some reason it doesnt turn the motor! it is probably an easy fix but idk what to do!

Do you have the ESC in brushed mode?

and its in proportion reverse lockout or something
none of the settings made any diff (proportion/reverse to brake to reverse) |
I couldn't tell from the movie, but in hi-power brushed mode, you hook all three ESC motor wires together to the negative motor connectors. Then, you hook the postive battery lead directly to the motor positive connectors, as well as to the ESC.

I looked at your vid again and it looks like you have your motors hooked to the ESC in regular brushed mode (where it has reverse) because you are using the red and black ESC motor wires to the motors. It makes sense that it won't move because in hipower brushed mode, the ESC sends the same voltage pulses to all ESC motor wires at once. This means there is no voltage difference between the red and black wires and therefore no movement. :)
BTW: Hooking it up the way you did won't hurt anything, but if you wire it for hi-power brushed mode (with all three wires hooked together) but program the ESC for regular brushed, you WILL damage the ESC so be careful! |

Before you try running it, make sure you read pages 8, 9 , and 10 of the manual to make sure the connections are correct. Then, double check the ESC programming mode (BL, brushed w/ reverse, hi-power brushed).

well i got it running fine and everythig is good but im havng the same problem. the tranny keeps falling out of place or something. and if i take it apart and put it back together i have about 10 seconds of driving till it falls out. what can i do to fix this? i can get a vid of the problem but i think all of you know... (BTW THIS IS AN E-MAXX TRANNY)

Unless I missed it... nothing was said about the voltage cutoff. Double check that cause it won't run if that's not set right. (disabled is best for that setup)

Good point GD, I didn't even think of that. I just saw the way he had it wired and what he said the mode was and figured that was it.
If the spur turns as well as the input shaft, I would suspect that the problem is somewhere inside the tranny. Do you still have the shift fork and gear changing dog gear installed? If so, the shift fork may be in the middle of first and second gears. If using a single speed conversion, how are you locking the tranny in second gear? Are you using the steel idler? |

sheesh brian... lol dont knwo all of that stuff... im not even sure what gear it is in... and that pitch fork... how do i tell about all those things?
maybe ill get some pics of the tranny taken apart... lol |
LOL. OK, look at the pic below.
http://scriptasylum.com/forumpics/emaxx_tranny.jpg The hole is where the shift fork would go. It slides in for second gear, out for first gear, and in the middle for neutral. If it is not held in one position, it can move around taking it in and out of gear. |

It looks like you have nothing holding the shift linkage in place like the other guys said, so it's just falling in and out of gear.
If you push it in that will be 2nd gear, and if you pull it out that will be 1st gear. Obviously if you want to be able to shift gears while driving you'll need another servo. |

Yes, 1st gear for acceleration, 2nd gear for top speed.
Second gear should have good enough acceleration though, depending on pinion/spur combo, and assuming thoose motors have at least as much torque as the titans. Most people only use second gear. |
