ok, im back, and the crt future could be strong!
well guys i was goin to do a all al, cf mlst, BUT i cant pull wheelies without risking the diffs
so hows the .5's diffs doin? i wont lock the center, but im doin really thick oil, so basicailly, and that will be like that till im sick of it i already got the mm 5700kv and speedo, got lots of batts but will prob get some limn's or so and mikes motor mount, and some angle cf for the batt mount and upper tray to stiffen the chassis, and have a mount for the mm and spektrum thx!:018: |
The CRT.5's diffs are basically standard 8th scale buggy diffs in a shallower cup. Since the .5 is lighter than any 8th scale buggy, there should be less strain on them and should last quite a bit longer.

thx brain, im reading ur whole thread as we speak lol, but u dont think the diffs will hastle me?
what gearin would u say? mikes pinions arent cheap to do them, so id rather not spend a ton on pinions, unless there different ones, got a link to them? any news on the derlin spur so i odnt have to spend extra on hardend.. is there room to stick a normal servo in there? i would cut the tabs off and stick it down, works on all my cars just fine, i use a lil ca also LOL, or if u dont think so, got a link to the one u use? |
Nope, the diffs should be just fine. Of course, over time, you are gonna want to change the fluid as it'll probably get dirty (as any diffs do).
No one knows about the spurs yet. I wouldn't go buying Mod1 just yet, because I think the spur for the .5 will be 32p, but not sure yet. Hardened pinions would work as long as the gear mesh is VERY solid, but finding a small hardened pinion (~13T) that is Mod1, yet with a 1/8" bore can be difficult. A normal servo should fit if you cut the mounting tabs off and stick it down, but it probably would weigh more. I would measure just in case. |
In this topic a company is in the process or just finished making a mount for a full sized servo, as well as an extended chassis I think. If you don't want to buy the new mount though, I am petty sure Brian and some others use the Hitec 225.
Edit: Brian beat me to it. |

i dont care on wieght, one less thing i have to buy, my spektrum came with those 2 servos, and i could use those, id rather do that then buy more lil ones..could u mesure for me? i dont have mine yet what pinions are u using? if it works for u, works for me LOL i will use mikes mount, with the cf batt tray, and prob a top deck to go with that, so i tihnk flez will be fine, but id like to do mikes stuff and yeah i know cleaning, just dont want stripping on me lol thx for the help! and i will cheack out that servo |
man wheres the moster at? i sent a email almost a week ago on the crt .5, i need to know that stuff lol, gting close to graduation which this and the mount will be my present =)
and i still need to know that stuff, brain cough |
A std size servo is going to be a tight fit with the pinion I just took a look and you will have to remove the rear servo mount or flip the rear mount and bolt it to the outside of the servo to get it in there?
BCE is working on an extended chassis with a std size steering servo.:) Here is a link to the picks of the new chassis and top plate http://www.truggyracers.com/forum/in...c=12866&st=105 |
jammin, i will cut the servo ears off and stick it on, so u still think theres not enuff room in there?
i dont want to ext it, because then it isnt as small, which is tthe whole point of this lil guy, but thx! |

The diff's are holding up great I removed mine and filled them they were not full from the factory.:( You dont have to go to heavy on the diff oil to get it to wheelie I tried 10000wt and with the 5700 MM and 3s lipo there no problem. I have Jammin Jays set up in mine also and it worked great at the track. :) |
hmmm ok, thx man!
got a link at tower to the servo? i want metal geared, dont care if its digital or not, under 3o bucks, unless what ur running theres a reason to spend more |
I hear the JR digital servo's are best I'm using a Hitec HS5245 I have already melted 1 running the Jaco foams on pavement to much grip I guess? with the stock tires the new one is holding up great though. :)
|
well link to horizion hobby? or a part number?
i havent ever killed a servo, mini ones yes in my mini t, thats why i wanted a full size........ and jw, are those tires like front buggy tires? i want 2.2 rear tires, i want bigger tires on that lil bug, looks kinda wierd, but i dont have it in my hands qite yet so mayby not, but i still want bigger tires, and then some road racge or sumthin for street bashin =) |
The Jaco foams are for the rear of Associated trucks there the same od as the stock tires but about a 1/2" wider I got them from tower.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCME3&P=ML Any 2.2 tire will fit if you want bigger try the 2.2 truck tires? Here's the servo it comes with an aluminum arm.:) http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCRT0&P=ML I just noticed on the BCE chassis he is using a Futaba s9550 low profile servo that looks very interesting check out the specs speed .11 on 6v and 83 oz-in torque a little pricy but looks like it would be worth it? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXXJ36&P=ML |
sweet! me like those fomies =)
yup! idk which ones yet, but just something for all terain, but who knows lol then ok, thats kinda pricey, i dont want digital, is the one thats 13 buxs cheaper that isnt digital worth it? or no? |

I just found this one for a lot less money but TBH I have not had the best of luck with Cirrus servo's? You get what you pay for with servo's it's definetly worth it to spend a little more.
http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/440502.asp The low profile full size servo's look like they might be the way to go there about a 1/2" shorter then a std full size servo.:) Here's what the foams look like on the crt.:) |

was the one i was talkin about idk, 14 more now, 43 more if it frys lol, will that one i linked fry? or just get the digital? i dont want a nice servo, just something to last, and turn the wheels really, i think that first hi tec, but then again u get the metal arm, which is like 7 bucks last time i cheacked, but then at that point id get rpm ball ends and all that lol AHHH money money lol looks sweet! howed they perform? and, im not spending 70 bucks on a servo just to fit a small one lol |
I have not tried the hs-225 there both the same size close specs to each other idk I fried the circuit board in my 5245 servo but like I said I think it was the foams that killed it to much grip and I was road racing it at over 50mph.:005:
|
well i will try that servo, and if i fry it i will get the nice one, otherwise i will use that one, i still have to get a spektrum rx, the micro one as its only 20 more bucks then a bigger grey one that comes with the dx radios, anyone got them for sell? lol
and i wont use foams, i debut i dont think, but u might of just had a bad servo or sumthin... idk i just hope in a few weeks the mounts arent gone lol |
