My faith is lost too, just not for the same reasons...

moogenite 06.03.2007 05:28 AM

i dont think any american rc will ever be as good as a mugen seiki.

dont get me wrong, they have there good brands aswell, its just not most of them.

losi and team associated are decent, everything else is junk.

now if they would of compared a mini inferno to a inferno,:005:

Serum 06.03.2007 07:50 AM

as long as the people who are driving them enjoy their rides, i guess it's okay?

It's nice to see someone who's loyal to a certain brand, but there are others that make nice stuff too. Don't be too blind to see. calling other brands junk doesn't sound right to me. To be honest i am not too hot for the mbx5 standard edition either. it's got quite some Tupperware on it as well. Mugen is an okay brand but nothing super fancy/special either.

If you see a brand that uses Hudy stuff; Serpent, xray; these are the brands that are using topnotch stuff. if you ever felt the tight fit of Hudy parts, you would realize that mugen isn't all that either.

moogenite 06.03.2007 08:06 AM

well, i didnt mean it that way, out of american manufacture's losi and asso are the 2 that make nice cars. other american cars that i know of are pretty much junk. like that duratrax, yeah it has good points but it's not worth using imo.

i know of xray and serpent a bit, they are very nice aswell.
so is kyosho, some italian and german vehicle makers are very nice aswell.

didnt say those where junk.

just happen to love the mugen, and stuff like plastic chassis braces doesnt bother me, i dont care enough anymore.
1/10th electric off-road are pretty much entirly plastic and they are fine with it.

the standard is a killer truck.

this is just my humble opinion.

Serum 06.03.2007 08:24 AM

Yeah, and my only point was that there are more good brands than mugen; I had the impression (based on your other posts, username, signature, avatar and the words written underneath your username) that you where not aware. So I jumped the opportunity to make my point.

moogenite 06.03.2007 08:33 AM

ok, i understand.

my opinion is biased on jollyjumper's experience with lots of vehicles.

losi asso traxxas kyosho xray yokomo, ...

he has to wait on stuff from all of those long times.

i picked wich was really fast to deliver: mid-mugen is pretty fast as far as we know.

it took 3 weeks or 4 for jolly to get his losi truggy, its takin xray a month and half longer then told first for his xt8 that he wants.

thats why he talked me into the mugen seiki.

Sorry to disagree with you on the XRay. Even if the whole forum agrees on what you say, I think that X-Rray is nothing special at all. I've built the T2'007 touring car and I faced some trouble while building it. When I built the Cyclone from hot bodies, it went together like a dream. Really, I'm not trying to make an argument, but for the last few weeks, I've got both of the cars and built all of them myself and I can surely say that the HB is much precise than X-Ray.

Serum 06.03.2007 08:45 AM

that's okay, you may have got your 1/10th experiences with HB and x-ray, i only know the 1/8th stuff, and based on that i can only say that Hudy makes the best stuff available with no compromises.

What was it that was off on your x-ray? and did you contaced xray about it?

moogenite 06.03.2007 08:52 AM

captian, i bet on your t2'007 your front cvd chatters.

i know jolly's t2'007 has that problem. actually both of them have that.

jollyjumper 06.03.2007 08:55 AM

yeah, the cvd's on the t2 line are bad.
you have to modify them with a lathe so they wouldnt chatter at full steering.

or dail out the epa's but then you lose steering.

captain harlock 06.03.2007 10:11 AM

Hudy = X-Ray - X-Ray = Hudy. All of X-Ray's vehicles and parts are made and designed by Juraj Hudy. Hudy's stuff is top notch and that's unquestionable, but the damn shock absorbers include plastic bodies and they are a PITA to assemble. The suspension holders are also plastic and they tend to bend if you over tighten them. It's the way it is designed that caught my attention. And no, Jolly and Moogen, I haven't broken the car yet, since I haven't run it at all. It's built for my friend..:)

jollyjumper 06.03.2007 10:12 AM

captian, my cars have chattering driveshaft from the start.:005:

skellyo 06.03.2007 11:59 AM

Also, just an FYI...Duratrax is not the manufacturer for their 18th scale vehicles. The Vendetta ST is sold in Europe by LRP. I'm not sure if they manufacture it, but it is certainly not manufactured by Duratrax.

Then Supra you jump in saying bad things about DTX. Well I know for a fact you had issues with your Detta. Biased opinion? I currently own three. NOT ONE has giving me any issues. I can not grasp how you had such problems? HACK? Lack of experience? But seriously the car must be complex enough that "you " could not figure it out. So now you deem it junk. Shallow IMO.

Correct DTX has their 1/18th vehicles made by anderson and they are sold the world over under various brands. DTX is the N.A. distributor.

It goes by the name; DTX Vendetta ST, Blaze, LRP Shark-18 Monster Truck, Anderson/Yokomo MB-4.

Yes. Jaejw is a little enthusastic about his Detta and Detta ST, but he has owned other Minis and for him these two have given him what he wants in a 1/18 scale.

supralover72 06.03.2007 12:46 PM

Wow, I never said it was junk, I said it was junk compared to a Mugen.

Anderson is the company you guys meant.

jaejw1 06.03.2007 01:19 PM

well nicad is the only one that sees my point,, I was dhowing similarities with the same shaped parts,,,, which lead me to believe that a creator of the mb4 st must have liked the mbx5 enough to replicate parts and have them shruken down and used for the st

Bermbuster 06.03.2007 03:21 PM

dont be surprised if the mugen and the anderson are made in the same factory.......:D

skellyo 06.03.2007 03:26 PM

Wow, looks like half the one18th forum folks have migrated over here.

Welcome to the forums Berm!

IBJAMMIN 06.03.2007 03:45 PM

To be honest the Mugen in the vid didn't handle very well compared to my CRT on the same track at Hotrod hobbies it needs some work on the suspension set up I dont see the point of posting the vid.:032:

There is a common design between the vendetta and mugen but that has nothing to do with quality just someone copying another truck to save R&D and development cost.

Everyone is intitled to there own opinion though and when people say there car is the best there will always be someone saying the oposit WHO CARES as long as you are happy with what you have dont worry about what others think or say.:027:

Leave the kiddy games and flame wars on 1/18th and dont bring them here.:007:

BrianG 06.03.2007 05:27 PM

Bah, a good car is one that fits together properly and does what it is designed to do without falling apart. :)

pullstarter 06.05.2007 07:52 AM
