Nice.. They look a bit higher than the Komodo tires. Perhaps a nice compromise. Proline is working hard to make new products lately.

Dafni 06.17.2005 02:11 AM

Finally! The Crime Fighters are one of the best rubbers for buggies.
The Bow Ties got company, yay!

braaap11889 06.17.2005 04:54 PM

The only thing that would turn me away from these are the super soft rubber which means they wear easy. I have heard release dates from mid july to new week. I'm still waiting for the 23mm standard size velos to come out. I preordered both of them from a main hobbies. I can't wait.

supermaxx4190 06.17.2005 06:20 PM

so what did you order jared? the crimefighter MTs and standard velos? thats awesome. you know who will have to try them out:D

RC-Monster Mike 06.17.2005 06:26 PM

You can bet I will stock these crime fighters when they become available as well. i am always a suckers for a low weight monster tires, especially on ethat works (as someone already said, the crimefighter seem to work most everywhere on a 1/8 buggy, so the monster version should be ideal).

No probably going to run stock t-maxx those seem to do pretty good. Nah just kidding I plan on running crimefighters.

Pointless

supermaxx4190 06.19.2005 12:47 AM

now that my truck is going on a deit, these tires are a must. i cant wait to try them. when is proline gonna come out with 23mm standard offset?

Serum 06.19.2005 04:04 AM

With those small tire diameter you don't need a 23 mm adaptor, because the stress is much lower.

Possible so, but you havent seen what emaxx4190's truck does to helpless non 23mm tires. a full set of revo tires...demolished, regular 40 series bow ties either stripped out or rounded through. lol you are probably right though there wont be as much stress on the tires so they will be less likley to break.

The adapters are the only parts that I don't have dace everything else that dace makes for the t-maxx is on my truck, so I'm just going to run them so I can say I have a full DACE truck. You are right your don't neccesarily need the 23mm, but it doesn't hurt to have the extra protection.

Serum 06.19.2005 12:34 PM

No, an overkill in strength doesn't hurt.. they don't weight much either.

Those REVO rimms are known for the weak hexes. I normally glue my hexes into the rimms or use two screws that got thru the rimm. I really, really don't understand why they even made the large MT wheels with 14 mm hexes.. It is a weak link.. Proline rimms however are the toughest i met till so far.. with the 14 mm hex. (stablemaxx titans) and to continu the offtopic syndrome; do those 23 mm velocity rimms flex as much as the older 40 serie dishes? (those had the bad habbit to stay bent as well..)

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 12:40 PM

The stablemaxx titans are made by RPM. I haven't tried the new 40 series myself, either. I stopped running 40 series when I ran into the "wobble" problem!

Serum 06.19.2005 12:46 PM

Yeah, i don't know where my head is at.. ;) I meant RPM..

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 12:50 PM

I agree, though. They are strong rims and very light as well!

Hmm, I wanted to ask you about this. Some 40 I have seem to be wobblers right out of the bag.
I always thought they are damaged from crashs, but now I believe some are just bad when they are new.

I want some proper alu 40's one day.

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 12:56 PM

Well, the chrome velo 6 seem to be made of a harder plastic (vs. the dish rims), so they probably won't wobble out of the bag, but the yellow dish wheels I have make my truck look like it is limping down the track! I like the smaller tires for racing anyways!
Aluminum 40 series wheels look sweet, but for racing, I will stick to plastic myself.

maxxdude1234 06.19.2005 12:59 PM

3racing make some nice looking 40 series aluminium wheels. Don't know how good they are, but they do look very very nice.

Dafni 06.19.2005 01:00 PM

Well, I thought it's the stub axles, then I suspected the hexes, and I think I can rule out everything now. I made a lil device to true my wheels, and I have 2 Velo6 Chromes that wobble like crazy. They have no visible damage.

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 01:05 PM

Did they wobble out of the bag?

Dafni 06.19.2005 01:12 PM

Yes, they did.

Only two out of 12 are bad. But if I spin them on my "true-er" none of them is really perfect. But like I said, only on two would you actually see it when the truck runs.
And yes, I clean out the hex-hole and tighten them proberly. My observations were reproducable.

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 01:14 PM

Well, you won't see me running 4 series wheels any time soon. Have you tested any Revo wheels?

Dafni 06.19.2005 01:27 PM

The Revo stock rims are flawless, center-wise. But they are rather weak, I think. Also, the stock Maxx rims are perfectly even!

Rcbros 06.20.2005 12:09 AM

I'll be putting my crime fighters on stock maxx rims

rchippie 06.20.2005 01:19 AM

I hear the proline mamba rim is the strongest plastic 40 series non 23mm rim. I've also heard that the sport maxx rim is pretty tough for the standerd size rim. Those cfim fighters should be the ticket just about every where.

What about the dace adapters? Or is this for the roller. I'm undecided as I only have a .18 and not sure if I will strip out hexes very easiler.

polarisguy6490 06.20.2005 07:18 PM

I doubt that you would strip out hexxes just have your tire nuts tight and locktited. It took a 10L and 16 cells to strip out standard 40 series bow ties i dont think that a .18 could do that even if it was eb moded. Stock maxx rims are just about the strongest rims out there IMO.
