i'm back...been busy as heck with work the last few months, but i managed to slap this together during the evenings when my wife and kids din realise i was missing..:005: since i'm almost done with the chassis, it was time to find a shell for her.

here's another old shell that i've found a new use for...

whadda you think? personally, i find it quite ugly now that its done...haha...i still like the "panel" version on my maxx.(see avatar)

That's pretty cool.... it reminds me of the movie Cars...:027:

2FastSS4U 06.18.2007 09:28 PM

Kinda odd but looks cool, the twin motors almost look like eyes. :D

That chassis looks pretty good. Now it just needs brushless, lipo, and a centre diff, but that's only once you start wanting more.

nl12 06.21.2007 06:53 AM

I think it looks great

overtki11 06.21.2007 08:54 AM

haha thanks guys...

lipos BLs and center diff? :013: ...and....erm...... build a truck that almost everyone here has??? haha JK dudes!:027:

BLs and lipos rock i;m sure but i just dun have the budget for that sorta stuff right now...

well ok, a center diff did come with this 1/8 buggy chassis but without a super duper powered BL, the center diff option just wouldn't work...

besides, this project was just using some odds and ends that i had left over from my nitro txt project....and i did happen to have a spare emaxx tranny...so...there you have it...

and

since it won't be a very fast truck....i've decided to call this a tuggie..like in tug boat!!:005: :005:

i've only just finished fabbing a rear bulkhead brace tonight.

what's left is to lighten the chassis as much as possible....

mach1stang 06.21.2007 03:05 PM

i am really digging that new body.

Serum 06.21.2007 04:03 PM

Nice work man!!

looks tough. Nice shell..!

suicideneil 06.21.2007 04:59 PM

Something a bit different, especially since its made from odds & ends. How goes the NitroTXT-1 anyway?

jnev 06.21.2007 05:07 PM

Great job!! Should dominate for racing. :027:

Would that race in truggy class or MT class. Im guessing MT cuz of the tranny and high motor mount.

2FastSS4U 06.21.2007 08:14 PM

Probably MT because it uses a transmission and since most truggies have a center diff, right?

yeah odds and ends...so it ends up being odd! wahahaha..

nitro txt? glad ro say still in one piece.....intend to do some more work to it.....lil' bit here and there...

GorillaMaxx360 06.22.2007 10:01 AM

nice i like it different. and simple.

thanks dude.

overtki11 06.23.2007 11:16 AM

pulled a "all nighter" last night since i had the time..?! haha.

tried to mill out parts that was not needed...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t/P6220059.jpg

and after all that work...i only lightened it by 50g!!! :mad:1 :mad:1

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t/P6230062.jpg

overtki11 06.23.2007 11:18 AM

it was then that i realised that it was the front and rear bulks that weighed my tuggy down!

so i tried lightening other parts...

somehow this pic reminds me of starwars...hmmm.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t/P6230084.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t/P6230078.jpg

overtki11 06.23.2007 11:25 AM

it was then i had to accept it...... this is not working out....so if i can't lighten it further...i have to increase the horsepower somewhat...so since i aint gonna spend good money on a good BL system and lipos...i'm just gonna accept the fact that this tuggy will be a slow critter..hahahaha...

anywez, here's a build up...again....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t/P6230089.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t/P6230090.jpg

whats missing from the pics is the rear and front bulk braces.....i've done the rear so i'm just left with the front one to sort out...

suicideneil 06.23.2007 01:10 PM

If you removed much more material there would only be the front & rear bulks joined by the tranny in the middle! Does give it a funky new look with the speed holes- cooling shouldnt be a problem anyway...

overtki11 06.24.2007 11:34 AM

haha
actually, i have some other ideas that are only now brewing in my head for the chassis..but i'd just like to get this up and running to see how she goes....

well, this shood be it for now...

made these today...

That thing looks really, really good. Looks like there is plenty of room for batteries on each side, and then the receiver up front. Nice job.

suicideneil 06.24.2007 02:04 PM

Anything Overtki11 makes is always a work of genius/art. That looks like a HvMaxx esc there, but I only see 2 motors wires....

thanks!

yes, batts fit in there quite nicely...

but if i'm gonna proceed to use the intended shell then the rx will prolly sit ontop of the shift servo.

whoa dude! way too kind dude!:013: but thank you!:005: :005:

thats the super duty esc....for brushed motors....looks the same as the HV cos they use the same casing. but its got the sensor wires slot sealed with a rubber thingee, just like a handphone! haha
