Check the CC controller out!!!

I hope Mike doesn't get mad at me posting a different forum in here, but this is something. The guy that posted even said it is available with a 6 weeks lead time and a price tag of $499. If only they can turn this beast into the MMM.

E-Maxx King 09.03.2007 01:54 AM

You have to be a member to view it. Is it a MMM?

BP-Revo 09.03.2007 01:56 AM

Nah its a 20S boat controller. I couldn't view it, but I've heard of it before. I'd like to see it as well.

lutach 09.03.2007 02:06 AM

If CC doesn't turn that into a vehicle controller as well, they will miss out.

lincpimp 09.03.2007 02:07 AM

Heres the pic:

BlackedOutREVO 09.03.2007 02:37 AM

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG

That looks sweet!

jnev 09.03.2007 02:41 AM

Thats sweet! But again, I have a feeling a car version won't be out for 5+ years, lol.

E-Maxx King 09.03.2007 02:59 AM

That looks like a MMM too me. Its two controllers put together. It looks like the size of the evx. (The mmm is suppose to bolt up to the stock chassis) They said that the mmm is going to be a 20s controller. Hmm Im seeing the early version of the mmm. Maybe.. Does this new controller have the pc programing?

BP-Revo 09.03.2007 03:09 AM

Thats much longer than an EVX...sorry E-Maxx King, thats not the MMM.

Patrick 09.03.2007 06:07 AM

Sounds like a fat controller, 4" long and 526g!
The quark is supposed to be 78g plus wire, so about 100g with wire is guess.

lutach 09.03.2007 10:28 AM

This controller is for industrial motion control, but the guy said he will adapt radio control device. He said it is the same footprint as the Schulze 40.160, but seems a bit taller and hevier due to the large heat sink. We should put some number together to see how many people would be interested in a car version one.

aqwut 09.03.2007 11:18 AM

That is a beautiful controller..... Love the high voltage... love the high amperage... Now that's the perfect controller... too bad it's probably never going to come out... LOL

lutach 09.03.2007 12:05 PM

I wish I owned a company like CC. You would see some amazing things coming out of the company.

Definately not the MMM.

Heres why:

-I don't believe they EVER said that the MMM was gonna be a 20S
controller...Pointless from something that would be MASS produced.

-Its MUCH larger than a EVX. It weights 18oz....A EVX might weight 2oz.

-And it doesn't appear to be two controllers put together.

Xtremespeed 09.03.2007 03:25 PM

I wonder how many would actually buy the MMM if it had a $500 price tag.

suicideneil 09.03.2007 03:29 PM

Indeed. Alot of large controllers use double the wires to increase the amp handling, otherwise the wires would overheat and melt. The small controller is about the size of an evx I reckon- you should have a look on the CC website sometime E-maxx king and look at the boat/ plane escs, your eyes will pop out!

lutach 09.03.2007 03:44 PM

I wouldn't pay $500 for the MMM, but $500 for that controller seems ok. If CC open their eyes and make one for car use. I just heard news from the factory that is doing my 200A controller and they said it should be ready tomorrow, but like I said before I will really start talking about it when it is here with me. Funny thing is that they received the components on 08/09/2007 and it seems to be ready. The MMM is going on for almost 2yrs. and still nothing.

lincpimp 09.03.2007 04:17 PM

lutach, just wondering what kind of software your 200a esc will be running. Will it be good for all the different types of motors? Also, will it have standard programming options, reverse, etc? I am guessing that you have a company that already makes a popular esc and will be using their software and just updating the power output portion of the esc. Answer what you can without giving too much away!!!

They have a lot of great ESC already, but it was only meant for air. I tested a 100A 10S controller from them and it has the best start up I've seen and I used it with the Hacker ION-X motor, the 3688 motor and the Align 600L. All I can tell you is what I asked them to do. It will have features for battery type, cut off, cut off type, Timing, Brake strength, forward/brake/reverse or forward/brake only. You can use up to 15S lipos, but they said to keep it at 14S. One thing I was told by the engineer was that they would make a program card or box to go with the controller to make things easier to program. I can't tell you guys how much I stressed them on how good the brake has to be. So I will test one unit and when I give them the OK, they will make the rest.

Xtremespeed 09.03.2007 05:51 PM

Very interested to see your test results.

MetalMan 09.03.2007 11:30 PM

Any chance they will be sending other test ESCs out so they can have input from more than one person? :)

lincpimp 09.04.2007 12:10 AM

I will be interested to see how well this esc works out. I belive that you will test it properly, seems as though you do not have any problems will testing stuff till it fails!!! Any idea on pricing, or will that be dependent on quantity?

lutach 09.04.2007 12:59 AM

Lets wait until it is here. I will call Mike and see if he has some time to give it a try. After I get his input, I will give the OK for the rest of the controllers. I only found enough components to make 20 controllers. I will not be adding 2 power boards like I was planning on doing. I'm also waiting for the factory to give me alternate part numbers for the MOSFETs. So the first 20 controllers if I decide to sell them, they might be sold as is until I get a equivalent MOSFET that the factory will agree on. One good new is that they told me it is easier to make a 80 and 100V controller. So I will also be looking into that specifically for the car market. I can't stand the companies that only makes high voltage controllers for the air market.

lincpimp 09.04.2007 01:54 AM

Good to know, lutach. Thanks for looking out for the car guys. we are not a big market like rc planes, but our stuff is way cooler!!!

suicideneil 09.04.2007 10:50 AM

Have you thought of a name for the esc yet? A competiton may be in order....

I have to look out for us car guys. I don't fly at all and it sucks seeing great products for the air market and not for the car market. Someone needs to change that LOL.

No name yet. I'm not even sure if I'll put a name on it. This just might be that controller with no name that came out before the Monster Maxx from a simple guy that is not even as big as they are. I basically don't want to say much, I don't want to jinx my controller like CC did theirs.

What's_nitro? 09.05.2007 08:16 PM

You should call it the "Black Box", but package it in a bright yellow case just to confuse ppl.

lutach 09.05.2007 08:24 PM

I was thinking about CCK200A14SLM. Man, I'm going to be in trouble when somebody figure that name out ROFL.

BrianG 09.05.2007 09:11 PM

Hmm, let's see:
C= Castle
C= Creations
K= ?
200A = Amperage
14S = Lipo cell count
LM= Large Monster

Wow, that was close. This controller will be the Castle Creations Killer 200A 14S lipos Monster, but I'm just joking. CC don't get upset please. It should be interesting having a controller of this caliber made before CC.

BrianG 09.05.2007 10:54 PM

LOL. The only thing I could think of that K would stand for was "Ka Ka", but kinda figured that wasn't right. : )

What does the LM stand for?

The 14S is for the cell count, the L is for Lipos and the M is for Monster. I might call it TRMM (The Real Monster Maxx). DO you think they will get angry at me LOL.

BrianG 09.05.2007 11:00 PM

Only if they read this and know what it means. ; )

lutach 09.05.2007 11:17 PM

They won't read this, they don't care about us anymore. That is why I'm having my controllers made. I probably won't put a name on my controllers. If they are good, I'll just let the results speak for them. Let me get the first one here and beat it up a bit to see if it does ok.

aqwut 09.06.2007 07:48 PM

that's right lutach... I want one...

lutach 09.06.2007 09:59 PM

Aqwut,

The reason I'm a little excited is that the 100A controller from this factory is awesome. I will get pricing together after I calculate all my costs. I had the Giants running back coach go nuts when he saw it running on 36 volts. He couldn't believe how smooth the throttle was, but I also slammed on the throttle and the BBP truck jumped from a stand still out of the ground. The folks at Champion Hobbies in Lyndhurst was amazed as well. The only problem is they are not big brushless fan. Like 99% of the hobby stores in America LOL.

squeeforever 09.06.2007 10:15 PM

Lutach, I might be interested in one of those 20 controllers, if possible...

lutach 09.06.2007 10:35 PM

Let me test the first unit to see how well it does. I will make videos and I will contact Mike to let him give it a drive to see how he likes it before I even offer them to anyone. The only problem that I will have is there will only be 20 units available and I'm keeping about 4 of them LOL, but the factory already told me that electronic components do fail during manufacturing. With that said I have to sit here and hope that everything goes smooth. There is also the possibility of the factory just decides not to send them and I hope they don't do that. They were really surprised that I was able to find the MOSFETs.

Regards.

aqwut 09.07.2007 03:56 PM

how's the lutach warranty service?...
