E-maxx CVD's

Does anyone have suggestions for CVD's for E-maxx? I've looked for UE CVD's but I can't find any.

Are the MIP CVD's any good?

ClodMaxx 10.10.2007 11:08 PM

sorry... should've mentioned that the link i provided was to a buy/sell/trade part of the UE forum. if you're not already a member there, you'll need a membership to view the b/s/t forums. anyhow, the link i provided was to a guy selling a set of UE 6mm cvds.

MIPs aren't bad. no comparison to UE, but not bad. i don't know much about the traxxas cvds, but i'd look at them if UE isn't an option.

magudaman 10.11.2007 11:50 AM

I use the MIPs on my emaxx and they are very very strong. I recently shreaded by diff in the rear and I took apart the CVD think I would see wear, I mean com'on I ruined a diff. Well I looked at the CVD parts and I couldn't even see wear through their black finish. I guess the only down side would be they are steel so they are heavy but indestructible. Good luck.

i had MIPs on the front/rear of my maxx for about a year and i noticed the pin wore the hole larger in the axle portion. a noticeable amount. i'm not hard on my trucks by any means, but it was under brushless (well, novak 6.5) power the whole time. still, i replaced them with UE before any problems could arise.

MIP centers are another story entirely. do NOT get those, under any circumstances. they should be banned. maybe i'll write my congressman about them.

I've looked around and cannot find UE driveshafts.. Are these any good?

I went with the 3.3 shafts and knuckles.
I like them more then the mips.
I sold my UE 8mm to go back 3.3 style. :)

Ninmaxx 10.11.2007 06:54 PM

They'll hold up to a good BL setup?

coolhandcountry 10.11.2007 07:30 PM

Accually they hold up pretty well and cheap to replace. I am running a Quark and neu combo. It does well. They are same shafts that they run in the revos. :)

mkrusedc 10.11.2007 10:22 PM

I use 3.3 shafts with my Neu 1515/1y and so far no problems:

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 05:27 PM

Nah, I've had bad experiences from not buying from a store...

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 05:29 PM

What do I do for the centers, will they fit without any mods?

mkrusedc 10.13.2007 06:46 PM

I used RC-Monster dogbones. Just tell Mike that you need them for a stock chassis and he will make them the correct length.

If try a 3.3 center shaft you'll need to dremel the chassis like this: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...?t=7909&page=2

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 08:23 PM

Do I e-mail him when I'm going to order them?

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 08:27 PM

With the 3.3 shafts will I have to use 6mm E-maxx yokes or will they just fit directly?

Yes. Better yet put under notes/special instructions when you order online.

The output pin on the T-Maxx tranny is different then an E-Maxx. I don't remember the size. Maybe I can find it.

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 09:12 PM

I think the t-maxx is 4mm and e-maxx is 6mm, How did you fit your 3.3 driveshafts on your maxx?

mkrusedc 10.13.2007 09:16 PM

I used the RC-Monster dog bones for the centers. For the out drives I used the 3.3 shafts. I also used RPM axles carriers and arms, and T-Maxx 3.3 turnuckles. With that setup I just swapped parts and did not have to do any modifications.

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 09:18 PM

Are the outdrives on an E-maxx 4mm?

mkrusedc 10.13.2007 09:20 PM

Must be the 3.3 shafts fit without modification.

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 09:22 PM

Ok sweet! That will work now but I still have to find out if the 3.3 shafts will fit the HB diff..

mkrusedc 10.13.2007 09:32 PM

Let me know because I'll be getting some also.

Ninmaxx 10.13.2007 09:38 PM

Thanks and will do.

mkrusedc 10.13.2007 09:58 PM

I found the answer. You do have to do a modification:

Thanks for your help.
