Associated T4

My lil bro wants to get T4
can you guys list all the hopup parts availabloe for it??
especially aluminum parts
wut do you guys think bout the T4?

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 07:12 PM

The t4 is a great truck. I will have to dig around for some hopups for it though (none in stock). I am quite sure you could get just about anything in aluminum for it. LMK what you are looking for, if you have an idea, and I can find out about getting some stuff for you.

squeeforever 07.02.2005 07:18 PM

IMHO i think a losi xxx-t might would be better than a t4. i found that there easier to work on, the kits go to gether a little easier and more reliable.

Dafni 07.02.2005 07:19 PM

I like those 2wd 1/10 trucks, and the buggies, too. Would love to have one.

The best hop-up will be a BL :p j/k, I guess there are some wild brushies available.

From what I have read on boards, I think the Asso trannies are 2nd to none. A good thing if you wanna go BL one day.

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 07:25 PM

I'd take an associated over a losi any day. the trannies in the losi trucks can't cope with brushless power. The associated trannies, on the other hand, are tough as nails.

Rtsbasic 07.02.2005 07:34 PM

I run a 5000kv 540 brushless motor in a T3 with sometimes 8 cells, the transmission for the T4 I believe is very similar. I've had no tranny problems, ever! Never actually even stripped a spur in this car thanks to the good slipper/solid motor plate. Even with heavy tyres like Masher 2K's I just tighten the diff up a bit and its set.

You can get a full range of alloy bits, mostly everything can be alloy really cheap. If Mike can't sort you out with what you need PM me and i'll let you know where you can pick alloy bits up for them..

Dafni 07.02.2005 07:36 PM

Do you know how much I would have to pay for an Asso roller? T3 or T4, I don't mind.

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 07:37 PM

HG makes alloy idler for the t3, which makes the tranny bullet proof. Not sure about the t4, though. The t4 uses a GT tranny I believe. I can get the HG parts.

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 07:38 PM

I have a t3 with the factory team chassis that I am not using much. We can talk about it next time we speak. It has the alloy idler gear in it. the diff needs a rebuild(gritty), but otherwise it is good to go.

Dafni 07.02.2005 07:42 PM

Okay.

What kind of diff has a T3? Ball diff?

RC-Monster Mike 07.02.2005 07:44 PM

yep. Ball diff.

Rtsbasic 07.02.2005 07:50 PM

A diff rebuild kit is all of about $6-7, a FT T3 will be a very very competitive racer, with cheap parts.

squeeforever 07.02.2005 07:59 PM

@ daffni: i have a losi xxx bk edition that is VERY nice and would let it got for 450 shipped. its rtr and i have over 1250 in it. if you are interested pm me:D

Shadow350Z 07.02.2005 08:02 PM

remember mike i cant order anything from here unless i really need it
so can you list of aluminum parts for the T4
who makes it and how much is it?
cuz i searched hobbypeople.net and towerhobbies they dont have any

Shadow350Z 07.09.2005 03:58 PM

Might be getting a T4 by Xmas

The T4 uses the GT diff gear, not the whole transmission. I would prefer the T3 over the T4 any day. I love my T3 and I'm currently going through an aluminum phase, I may be able to help you out on parts. I can make many of the simpler parts, they just won't look good and they may be made from street signs, lol. :o

Rtsbasic 07.27.2005 04:55 AM

El Jarretto, email me rtsbasic@yahoo.com if you think you could make some aluminum bits for my T3 for the right price :) F/R towers would be a brilliant start, even if they're made from a sign, heh.

El Jarretto 07.27.2005 04:45 PM

E-mail sent. BTW, these items aren't of high quality so they're cheaper. There are usually little spot on the sides where you can see I drilled holes. Do you have AIM? That would be really helpful.

Rtsbasic 07.27.2005 05:07 PM

Sorry I don't use any IM software, I will look into setting up an AIM account though. You've got mail.

And I'm not fussed how they look as long as they're strong and fit correctly :)

I have a question. I might be getting a t4 roller soon for cheap and am thinking i might want to throw a brushless system in there. What motor would work well with a warrior 9918/9920 with 6 and 7 cell packs?

RC-Monster Mike 07.31.2005 09:54 AM

Feigao 8s, basic 4200, basic 5300 all work very well. You will need a receiver pack on these low cell counts, though.

Mike_D 07.31.2005 10:03 AM

Will i still need one if i use a ubec?

Rtsbasic 07.31.2005 10:12 AM

I'd say a Lehner Basic 5300's your best bet. The UBEC doesn't help with the warriors on low cell counts from what I've heard so you will need an rx pack. Alternatively use a different controller, such as a Mtroniks plasma sport. Costs about the same and is designed for what your doing. Will handle a 5300 with no problems.
