Maxx lower arm outer shock hole distance???
I bought the LST shock conversion kit for my Maxx and got the FLM Towers on but the shocks are too long, and don't match up the holes on the lower arm for mounting. I could drill a new hole, but I'm wondering if the FLM arms have the outer shock hole out farther. They mount only if I compress the shock. I did have to hack the upper arm but I don't care. I got the arms off Ebay, so they are a no name brand. So my ? is.
Can someone tell me the distance from the hinge hole to the outer shock hole on a FLM lower arm? I have it marked with a red line in this pic: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...CIMG0376gg.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/CIMG0375.jpg |
just make shock stand-off like Gorilla maxx arms use
|
Yeah, I saw those last night. I have some 3mm carbon fiber laying around I'll try with those first. I just might be lazy and buy the levers from gorillamaxx. They list them in the replacement section, $14 a pair.

Well I got the LST shock conversion kit installed and it was a chore. In order for the shock to clear I had to remove part of the upper arm and drill a new mounting hole in the lower arm. It looks pretty sweet and I did a drop test from the the workbench to the floor and no more slapping the pavement. It doesn't even come close to bottoming out. The tires also clear so no rubbing there. Good thing because I forgot to check that when I drilled for the new holes.
Can someone from FLM answer a question though. What was the LST Shock Conversion kit setup for? (FLM arms, stock arms, RPM arms, etc...) Here's the pics: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/CIMG0377.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/CIMG0378.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/CIMG0383.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/CIMG0382.jpg |
the lst shock conversion is meant for the savage.. with the use of FLM towers and FLM arms; with the included spacers you are also able to use the stock (X) arms. You have the first maxx with LST shocks!

I was wondering what you were doing. My LST shock conversion bolted right on....
to my Savage. Way to make it work! Looks like a solid setup there. |
