Hacker Master Car Sport (Should I get it?)

Im wondering if I should trade my VXL ESC for a Hacker Master Car Sport ESC just to be able to run on 5s? Will it run 5s without any issues? I know its a little outdated but I want your input. Here it is- http://www.swami-rc.com/images/HackerInstall%20019.jpg

Here's another small pic...

I would go with a quark, the hacker esc is outdated. Plus the quark has more fe3atures, and will run smoother and will run any motor out there. Including outrunners!

Im not buying it. I was offered it as a trade for my VXL. Do you think its a good trade?

your doing the opposite of me. I sold my brushless stuff to get my vxl(I plan to buy the MMM with the money I have been making)

Tower sometimes have the Sport and Race on sale. I own the Master Car Race and the most lipos they handle is 3S. Good controller though. Might not claim all the AMPs the VXL does, but it is a smooth running controller.

Used to run the Hacker back in the day. Never had a problem with them and I owned a few. Ran a dual set up with those,16 cells each if I remember right.

I would rather get the new MMM when it comes out. IDK I'll let you guys know if I should sell my VXL in order to get the MMM.

I own several hacker master comps, they have been the best performers I have had, and I have BK, Schulze, Catsle, mtronics. it is made by jeti and is compatable inrunners, out runners upto 12 pole, even though I know the are superior to alot of produts out these days the big complaint is no support and no more warrenty or repair.

but hey I'll trade you a hacker comp for your vxl

Would you pcnutz? Im sending my VXL in warranty because its in peices lol. Its far from repairable. Im hoping that once I send it in with the full non-warranty charge which is $45 that traxxas will send me a completely new one... BTW: pcnutz is the hacker master in good shape? Got any pics? The one the guy offer to me is in godd condition he said that he's having problems keeping it programmed though. Thats whats holding me back.

Oh and the ones tower is selling are alot different than the one Im looking at. I have the Jeti Car Sport ESC already and I think its alright... Nothing special IMO but Im guessing that the Hacker Master will be aot better. Guy at my LHS said that it will not run on 5s for some odd reason of it being analog instead of digital... He said it will not reccognize it and it will thermal which I seriously doubt... But ya I think Im gonna go for it.

Heres the one I have in my EXT- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNHA8&P=7

pcnutz 02.12.2008 03:16 PM

most I ever tried is 14cell, I have not had any issues with the ones I have now

Takedown 02.12.2008 03:28 PM

Do you think it'll run fine on 5s if its properly cooled? Got any pics of your hacker?

Takedown 02.12.2008 07:18 PM

Well I think Im gonna trade... Ill let the guy know and possibly get some pics of it for you guys. I wont pick it up for a couple weeks though seeing that Im not gonna pick it up for awhile. (busy)
