rc10t 40mph?

i'm moving up to lipo now, i have a 9920 for control, so what motor will get me easy 40 mph cheaply and not burn up my stuff, this is only for bashing

380c, 540s, 540L, and what wind to use i havent a clue

Depends on the voltage...I'd say 3S with a 540S should be plenty for 40mph.

On 2S, any of these should do it:
380C 6L
540 7S
maybe even a 540 8S geared up a bit

I had a 380C 6L in an RC10T3 and routinely ran it in the mid 40's on a 2S Trakpower pack.

A 380c 9t on 3s will do 40 mph no doubt. I once had this combo in a xxx-4 and it was a rocket. Out of all the feigao motors ive owned, (380 12s, 380c 9t, 540 6s, 540 9L, 540c 8xl), the 380c 9t was definately my favorite. But unless you are limited to feigao I recommend the mamba motors, which are better quality. A cm4600 should be very close to the 9t in performance.

What speedy said, a 4600 on 3s will do 45 no prob.

Heck, I'd even go with a Traxxas Velineon motor if you're running 3S. IMO, it's a better motor than the Mamba Max motors. You should be able to pick up one new for ~$60-65 on eBay.

ok i forgot to mention it will be on 2s tp extreme 5000 batt, is it just me or does it seem like the 380 would be a bit small for a truck, maybe i am wrong

thanks guys for your help

For 2s, I would say a 6s or 7s 540 feigao. They are more powerful than the mamba max motors.

On a side note, I have a 540 6s motor that has 1 run on it. PM me if interested. It has a kv of about 6000 and you could gear it to what ever speed you want in that truck. It is lower kv than the 7700 mamba motor, but it has a longer rotor and will produce more torque than the mamba motor and will run cooler.
