40 Series tires

Other than ProLine, who sells a good variety of 40 series tires?

I am planning to use the Axial Oversize beadlock wheels on my Revo, but they only accept 40 series tires. Unfortunately, I am not finding a very good selection of tires in the 40 series. Too bad the Proline Badlands don't come in 40 series. Any ideas/help is appreciated.

Losi has some, and I think GRP has a couple.

I would like to know any others as well.

Proline makes a bunch of 40 series tires. That sort of style are you looking for. You could run maximizer bead locks if you want to run badlands.

Here is a link to all the proline tires http://www.pro-lineracing.com/produc...egory=mt_tires.

Thanks wildman...I have the Maximizer beadlocks on my CRT and I am not impressed, and I don't like any of the ProLine 40 series.

Does anybody know for sure if the GRP tires fit the the 40 series wheels? I can't find any references to support that they do.

tower says inside diameter of 96mm and 100 mm, should be about 40 series.

I just got a set of the GRP big block tires. They fit the losi 420 rims, so they should fit the proline rims as well, since the proline tires fit the 420 rims.

Axial also makes a couple of 40 series tires.

Thanks bdebde. I really like those Axial beadlocks...but the tire selection isn't the greatest for 40 series. I ended up buying the Maximizer beadlocks and HPI tires. We'll see how those work out. I was really wanting to find a good "all terrain" tire for bashing.

I may get a set of the axial beadlocks next, if only to be able to try out different tires. I have been looking for a good all terrain tire in the 40 series as well. I like the 40 series bowties for off road, but the street eats them up. I use HPI phaltlines for on road, but then you can't really go off road. I will see how these GRP tires do for both on and off road. I may try the proline dirthawgs, but I did not like the 2.2 version (balloon city), although the 40 series may be better.

Yeah...I was looking at the GRP Big Blocks too....but man they are big and heavy. I wish they made the HPI Agressors in 40series...I think the Axials would make a good combo with Aggressors.

If ur looking for a best of all worlds have you considered the traxxas talons? I have them on my E-revo and 3.3 revo and am pretty happy with them. Most of my running is on an blacktop parking lot but I also venture into the grass and dirt and they have been good all around. Originally had panthers on my e-revo and wasn't happy with them

bdebde 03.06.2008 06:34 PM

I like the look of the Talons, but I don't think they will fit any wheels with larger 17mm hexes. Don't the traxxas tires mount more like buggy tires than truck tires?

E-Revonut 03.06.2008 11:16 PM

the traxxas rims take a 14mm hex but u can get the tires seperate and I'm sure u can find other rims that they will fit on
