Battery RUn times
Well, since i really wnat a e-revo, i might as well race it. problem with the unlimied class is that they have 45-minute a-mains. How u suppose to keep up if you have to change your batts ever 10 minutes? How long of runs could u get with lipo batts? What would be a good mah. How would u know if they are about to die if its always constant (dont want it to die in middle of track).

Moved from UE support forum to Revo forum...
if you run brushless and you are a good driver, you are able to switch batteries, drink coffee and continue the race and still finish 1st.. you might need a good set of lipoly's to run it in for 40 minutes. (takes some money and adds extra weight though) |
proabably ligher then 18 nimh cells

:L: Serum, this is probably the only forum in the word were such a statement will not result in a flame war. Good attitude, though  |

Runtime depends on driving style, type of BL System, gearing, & voltage, as well as the weight of the vehicle.
What motor and esc will you be running on the Revo? If you run lipo, you should use a low voltage cutoff device to keep from destroying your investment. 45 minutes is a long run so you'll want to keep the motor temps down. I'd invest in some additional fans. Seeing how the gas trucks will need to re-fuel around 3-6 times, if you only have to change batteries once, you could be fine. You just need a battery configuration thats easy to swap in and out. A single pack lends itself better for this IMO. You will most likely need 8Ah's to make it through the 45 min A Main. Good luck, go get those nitro's ;) |
