G3R Spur/Pinion & Slipper Questions
Hi Guys,
I am relatively new here but I am in the process of building a G3R for racing. I have the hot bodies hardened diffs and will be using the G1 Single Speed Kit. Based on Mike's recommendations the plan is to also use a Neu 1515 1y on 4S lipos (8000mAh). I have used the speed calculator here but wanted to ask if I have all of the inputs correct. The values I entered are below: Differential Ratio: 4.3 Transmission Ratio: 1.7222222222222223 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 51 Pinion Tooth Count: 24 Total Voltage: 14.8 Motor KV: 2200 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.8 Tire Ballooning (inches): 0 Motor Current Draw: 130 Motor coil Ω: 0.006 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 2.13 : 1 Total Ratio: 15.73681 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 18.22 inches (462.82 mm) Total Motor Speed: 30844 RPM Vehicle Speed: 33.82 mph (54.33 km/h) Effective Speed Rate: 2.29 mph/V (3.67 kmh/V) Estimated Adjusted Speed: 32 mph (52 km/h) - 4% loss Effective KV Value: 2084.05 Motor Torque: 0.42 ft-lbs Final Torque: 6.55 ft-lbs Final Power: 1924 watts (2.6 HP) Did I get the transmission ratio correct? I used the emaxx second gear selection because I figure that is what the single speed kit uses. I also used the OFNA 51T spur as I would like to keep everything Mod1. Tires were 40 Series (5.8" dia.). I have not ordered the pinions or spur yet and want to make sure I am doing this right. Also, if I go with the 51T Ofna Mod1 spur, what slippers can I choose from? From looking at the forum it looks like the Strobe or modifying something like the standard Revo slipper. Thanks. Mark |
I just did this myself after asking for help on here. I had issues with the stock e-maxx set up on a G2R running a Novak HV4.5 setup. I have wound up using a revo input shaft with a portion cut off the back so it fits, I have also heard of drilling a hole in the transmission to allow the shaft to stick out and I recomend trying this instead. The whole point of the shaft sticking through is that the hole in the shaft allows you to stick a hex wrench through it to hold it while adjusting the slipper. Then I have modified a MGT mod1 spur to allow the use of mod1 gearing, or you can use spur gears from the new E-maxx and go with32P (Mod0.8). Hope this helps

Yes that trans ratio is right.
Do you definitely have the HB Pro truggy diffs (43/10) or do you have the buggy ratio (43/13), because that will effect your spur/pinion combo a fair bit. If they are the truggy ratio then 24-25 should be good for racing. |
I have the 43/10 truggy diffs. Thanks for the help guys, it is truly appreciated!
