G3R Transmission Suggestions

Hi everyone! I finally have enough money saved up to purchase the Gorillamaxx G3R CF chassis. I have a brand new E-Maxx transmission that I was initially planning on using with the Gorillamaxx single speed conversion. Im not sure what slipper to use with this setup. I also see that Mike will be making a center diff option. I would like to run the new MMM setup with 4s or 6s when it is released. What are your thoughts and recommendations? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Looks like you have a nice project going there. I think most go with the G-Maxx single speed or the stock revo trannny and the RCM mount. I hadnt heard about the center dif option from mike. Whered you see that?

I have the gorillamaxx single speed and 2 revo trannys, are u saying that i can just take the revo output shaft out and stick it in the single speed?

take out the revo input shaft and you can either cut a bit off the back or drill a hole in the Gmaxx case to allow the back to stick out, works great I cut mine but if I was to do it again I'd drill the case so I have that little sticking out the back with the hole to stick a hex driver through to allow easier adjustment of the slipper. The catch is you either have to run 32P gears from the new e-maxx or use an associated Monster GT spur gear(mod1) and drill out three peg holes to 5 mm and use a washer on the head of the bolt holding the gear on. If you want more details I can send pics, I just did this about a week ago after asking on here too!

I used the older Emaxx tranny with a strobe slipper. If you cant find a strobe I have a modification in my signiture. Nice start up btw.

I am almost half tempted to sell my E-maxx Transmission to purchase the combination. I just dont want to break the bank.

Either would be awesome, but its taking Mike a while to get them ready for sale ( I think he's getting old or something, lol).

Well These aren't my pics but this post has all the details, it's actually where I learned this from. Sorry it took so long to get this to you.

I too would drill the hole for the shaft if I did it again. I might do it next time I have it apart.

I put a couple of pics in the linked thread above that shows the new 3905 shaft in the 3906 case and it next th the stock shaft.. It will be a close fit in the G1 tranny but couldn't verify that it would work for sure. It's uses a different size locknut then the Revo shaft. The nice thing about the 3905 shaft is the top gear must be machine pressed on. I didn't see any holes for pins at all. It also look like it would be stronger.
