Mike, need some UE stuff

I need the 8 spyder shimm kit an racer x front aluminum turnbuckles kit asap. How fast do you think you can get them?

The aluminum turnbuckles are not available i'm affraid.. (tried to get them too)

what shimms do you need Sicco? you sayd 6 mm, but on the diff there is no 6 mm used...?

Sneeck 08.24.2005 12:50 AM

The cvd cup that you send me need's to be shimmed, atleast with mine. It has a diameter of 6mm. I need the whole kit just for spare shimm's, don't want not be able to drive cause I lost 3 tiny shimm's like in this case:(

Too bad those alum turnbuckles arn't availeble. How about Lundsford's titanium one's?(only front)

You got the O-ring in the diff? the cup doesn't need any shimming, that play is totally normal and can't do any harm..

I use Proline titanium turnbuckles..

There is acctually a shim that goes between the bearing and the drive cup. I have two sets of ue diffs and both came with the little shim. Robin said they are not absolutly needed, but he him self prefers to use them.

That's odd cause i've shimmed it and it feel's great. If I let the shimm's out there is almost 1mm of play. Shimming that can't hurt, neither letting the shimm's out.

It simple won't hurt if you don't use them, it's the pin in the gear that has got this play. If you shimm it, the pin that carries the gear will touch the diff.. I personally don't prefer those shimms..

Just let it float.. that's my opinion.

That sorta explain's why that darn pin is always a pain in the butt to remove...

Moving on:p
