Switched to race mode, installed Li Saver.. no workie.
 

Since I didn't want to send my controller back to MGM, I bought a Li Saver from Mike and changed my controller settings to Race mode.

Now, I can't do anything... It won't program, it just beeps and beeps. Obviously it doesn't take a rocket scientist to install this unit but apparently I'm missing something.

Anyone try this mod?

PS. On a separate note, I started the truck up for the first time in almost a week. I plugged the battery in and steering, throttle and reverse works fine.

However, I have no brakes. I haven't even logged into the controller program to change anything.

Maybe you still have your MGM's voltage cutoff enabled?

Are you talking about the 3 settings you have for what happens when the voltage drops? That being

a)low rpm
b) cut-off
c) race mode

Is that what you're talking about?

Yea, are you sure you have it on race mode? That's what it should be on I believe.

Yup, got it on race mode....

I'm gonna try to reprogram the radio/esc and then reset the controller...

We'll see what happens.

Okay, I give up. The instructions say that the li-saver may not work correctly with certain setups. Looks like I'll have to send this POS MGM controller back to them. What a piece of crap. For what you pay, you shouldn't have this many problems with it.

I installed the Li-saver because I was hoping that by installing it and being able to switch to Race Mode, my sudden nose dive issue would stop.

The truck randomly nose dives for no reason, it's random and you can't duplicate it.

I give up with it. I can't wait for the MMM controller to come out.

I dont know what your set up is, but in the meantime you could use the MM ESC and run a 4 cell, I have gotten very good results with that setup, I actually have to work on gearing up, mine does wheelie a lot its a good thing I have the wheelie bar

A few thoughts...

I'm running a 5S right now so I don't want to go buy some 4S batteries. Besides, the difference between a 4S and 5S is huge... after driving my buddy's 4S revo, I was severely dissappointed.

Not to mention if I'm going to spend more money on a controller, I'll wait until the MMM comes out.

I don't mean to sound bitter but when I bought the MGM controller, I didn't question how much it was, I thought I was buying quality. I realize light bulbs burn out but when my controller didn't work out of the box and I had to wait for another 2-3 weeks for another one and then I have these wierd problems, they should have named in Quirk instead.

Oh well.... at least Mike's been great to work with.

I'am with you, with MGM, we don't have for what we paid........
When i've decided to sped $300.00 on a controller, my first goal was to buy the "peace of mind", but it's realy not what i've got, and more, i think my controller was lost in mail.
MGM ship it back to me 2 week ago, and don't recieve it yet.........
When i've ship it to MGM, they recieve it in 5 days......

It's my first, but last experience with this controller.

Geez, I too am getting ancy and can’t wait for the MMM but need a quality controller. I’ve been holding back the urge to snatch up the 160A Compro, but figured if I did buy, it would be my last ESC [best].

Guess that’s not the case? :(

Wait for the MMM, it'll be in the $150.00 range and i'am sure that it'll be as good if not better than a $300.00 + controller.

2 weeks overseas is a normal time, dont forget it can spend quite a long time at customs if it's not EMS and i doubt that MGM would use very expensive EMS (right now overseas $50+)
why dont you just drop them an email. I get responses even over weekend. Its even better than calling them as phones are handled by some ladies and sometimes they seem to be quite confused, but emails are answered directly by G. Dvorsky.

Quick answer from MGM?
This is my case:
bought a 12018 esc 2 months ago, the esc did instant bracking, like someone has too here, I sed 1 mail, answered 1 dai after, ok, the 2nd mail from me to they.. last 5 days.
they "change" my 12018 for a 9032 one, paying the difference ( plus upgraded usbcom +, ccc03, and programming card)

I receibed it on wednesday, i soldered connectors and I DOESN'T WORK, the green light near the capacitors that lights when you connect the lipos... DONT LIGHT, it can be programed by pc or by programming card, but it doesn't work, I can't calibrate the esc with the radio.
I tryed with my 3pk with different spektrums, with 40Mhz FM, and also with a perfex 27Mhz, but it doesn't work.
I tryed with and without bec, with battery receiber, with neu, feigao, mamba max, motors bot NOTHING.

I sended to mg 1 e-mail wednesday night, thursday sended other, today I sended one more to ALL the e-mail I had from them but.. NO ANSWER.

Y pay more than 300€ (like 450$ by the money change), for an esc that not work. and they dont answer me nothing.

Also I sended a video showing the NO-operation of the esc.

Can someone tell me what's happening with MGM?

i had a same problem with sky technology with couple bad quarks. me and couple my friends never got any reply to like 10 emails and year ago they sorted me out very quickly.
