New Brushless GST..

I'm gonna re-do my GST...
I'm planning on using 2 Neu 1527 or should I do 1 big *ss 3080... I'm probably going to make it belt driven... and run it off 14S... Unless Castle sends me the SHV :)...

I have 2 extra 24.160 hanging around, that's why I have the option of dual brushless... I'd have to buy a new ESC if I run the 3080.. Decisions, decisions...

Some input would be great.. Thanks guys!!!!:na:

The 3080 is just a monster of a motor and it will be enough. If you don't get the SHV, just go with a Jeti Spin 200/300 or a 40.160.

I'm really hoping for the 40.300 to be out soon... I'd like to have that ESC just because it has brakes, and would be perfect...

either way would be insane. i think the dual bl would be awesome, especially since you already have the controllers.

Yeah, I was thinking of this also... but the 3080 looks so beautiful..... the 3080 is capable of more power though...

wow! check out the motor i just found. i think it would be more powerful than twin 3080's.

25 lb. MT anyone?

Hardstyle 03.15.2008 06:37 PM

Aqwut, how about some BIG outrunner motor and bolt it direct to diffs? I have consider it myself, but dunno how to make the brakes.. I think it would lighten the truck a bit too, without the gear box.. Just my thoughts..

Problem is the Outrunner is only capable of 7000 Watts and is 1.6 KG (not much lighter than the 3080) ... I would like atleast 10KW of power... so I could have crazy weigh to power ratio... Also I don't think the outrunner would be able to move it too well.. it has a KV of 180... it would only move it about 54 MPH Maximum...

BL_RVO... that motor is AWESOME DUDE>..

Takedown 03.15.2008 09:48 PM

You guys think that the KB45 is up to this challenge or would you want more power? I mean it puts out 3500w. But ya if you want more power I say go "outrunner direct drive".
It will have the most torque and probably the same speed as using the tranny with a powerful inrunner.

Hardstyle 03.16.2008 08:47 AM

Only 54 mph, hehe. Dude that car is impossible to drive with those speeds, imo :mdr:

jzemaxx 03.16.2008 10:16 AM

For 80mph passes, what tires are you planning on using is what I want to know. Definitely the 3080 will get you there.

aqwut 03.16.2008 10:38 AM

I'm gonna be using the stock tires.... love the sounds of big treads at high speeds.. :)
I'm not too fond of street tires... I might take the GST to speed challenge, if the 1/5th scale doesn't get me pass 80.. that's why I'm thinking of modifying it to something bigger...
