8XL vs 1950/6

Hey guys how does the 8XL stack up against the 1950/6 Lehner. I have one ordered to replace my 8XL to try and I've heard I should be able to get alot more speed out of it due to the amount of torque it produces over an 8XL. Also I understood it will pull alot more gear as well. I'm running them on 6S....both motors.

Hmm, what temps do you get on your 8XL on 6S?

I'd say 6S on the 8XL is asking alot, but on the 1950/6 it's asking for too much!

If you have a direct drive conversion, you may not be able to find a gearing that suits your 1950 spinning at nearly 50'000 rpm.

I use my 1950/6 on 4S... plenty of power to kill any nitro. For 6S, I'd suggest a 1950/8 or even 9.

Just my opinion

The 1950/6 and 8XL are almost indentical in KV's. On 6S they are both spinning only around 45K, which for the lehner I don't think that's a big deal. I figured the 1950/6 would be the way to go since it should have a good bit more torque due to shear rotor size.

The Lehner will run much colder . I am currently running a 8XL in the new emaxx. (on 5s) but I won´t try it on 6s !

It runs like a champ on 6S. Consistently radar's over 60mph....best so far with a XL motor on this truck has been 67.7. Can't seem to pass that mark though. Any more gear and the truck slows down...less gear and the truck doesn't make it to that mark, so its time to change to something that will pull more gear. I am hoping this 1950/6 does the trick.

I use a 1950 8t hi amp on 4s in my jammin buggy. I run a 18/46 gear , it will hang with my friends buggy & he runs a NEU 1512-1.5d on 4s & he runs a 10/46 gear.

I did get the Hi-amp version of the motor if that makes any difference.

Also will a BK 9920 run with a Neu motor or will the 9920 not run a 4 pole motor?
