Could you please draw what you think is the right way?

How many cells? How many packs? What controler? It will make it easier.

Are you talking about the cotroller to motor connections? If so they can connect in any order. With sensorless you can switch them around to make the motor run in reverse.

MGM160 w/ 7xl wiring

The UBEC has a really good block wiring diagram.

This seemed like a good thread to continue with the questions I have. I don't know too much about electric other than no forks in the wall outlet and red is positive and black is negative ;).

I'm using Deans Ultra female connectors with two battery packs, the UBEC, MGM Compro ESC, and a Feigao 7xl motor. Per Mike, I ordered the 3.5mm gold connectors.

My first question is should I shave down the motor wire ends so that these connectors fit in the gold connectors or should I just solder a small piece of wire to each motor lead and put the gold connector on the other end of the small piece of wire?

Second, the motor wires seem to be a larger gauge of wire than 12. Will 12 be adequate for all the wiring that needs to be done? I think so, but I'd rather be sure about it.

Next, I was thinking of using an extra motor clamp I bought from Mike (the small version since I bought it thinking I'd be using the 9L and not the longer 7xl) to house and protect the speed control. The MGM controller has small screws on the side, and I think it is OK to have these touch the aluminum since they go into the ESC's heat sinks. Can someone validate that this will work?

after thinking about the setup some more, I'm going to solder a piece of wire to each motor wire and put the male connector on the other end. The male connector is required to connect to the MGM Compro ESC anyway.

Any thoughts on the other two items?
