I ran my sons rusty today, everything was cool and the motor was hot. Like 187 temped.
I think the pinion is 17t on 2s. is that really undergeared?

what size was your your spur, I presently run a 15 tooth with a jato 54 tooth spur and I good good results

you should be running anything from 20 to 24 tooth on 2s. with a 86 tooth gear, I run a 24/86 on my SRT and it runs cool and will wheelie on dirt

It is the 86 tooth spur I think. I will try and gear the pinion up a bit and see how that goes.

in my opinion the 4600 on 2s lipo should really be geared to hit about 35-40mph any less and your undergeared and the motor will get hot as it does not have the load it wants.
