Mamba Micro Pro???
I was just browsing around on Tower's website and saw this:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXURX6&P=7 I know Castle had replaced the Mamba25 with a Sidewinder micro, but wondering if anyone had heard of a Mamba Micro Pro - can't find it on Castle's website. The picture looks pretty sweet for a micro controller. |
I found that odd as well.

I want one. hehehe. I'm sick of my stuttering quark.
|
That's the one I saw a couple months ago that I was told to keep quiet about, lol. It was contraban from the Castle. hee hee
I think I have posted here before that there will be a new version to replace the Mamba25. That's why they gave the old one the SW tag... to make room for this new baddass one. btw, when I saw this actual real product a while back, and saw the Sidewinder running too... that's when I believed that the MMM was finally getting close. I don't know if these products were related, but I'm guessing that some of the R&D may have been a joint project. Anyway... I just wanted to inject a little MMM flavor to yet another thread LOL!!! |
I saw this pic a while back too. Some one posted a link to it as it's in the media section of the castle site. Sadly there isn't any other news.

Oooh sweet, didnt realise it was up on tower. I got excited by the release of (ie re badge to :P) the sidewinder micro without any of the usual release hype, and in my excitement someone pointed me to the media page on the cc website. Been there for a while now.

Found a thread over at RCUniverse on this one:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_70...tm.htm#7073165 There is a quote from someone who said he contacted Castle and they give him this information: "Alright this is what I got It will be coming out in no longer than a year. He said about 6 months but didn't want give me wrong date. Will be using Neu motor techniques. With a 2.3mm shaft option Has max 35A. Will come out after the monster max system." Now the Sidewinder (maybe just a renamed Mamba25) information on Castles website says that it is a big jump up in power handling from the Mamba25 and they don't give a continuous Amp rating, but they say more than you can handle. To say the Mamba Micro Pro can handle 35A cont. doesn't really impress me too much...... Personally, I would get the controller because I like the placement possibilities due to the design much better than the flat shrinkwrapped Mamba25. |
It's a surprise to hear that maybe a new motor or two is coming. That would be sweet.
|
I expect to see all their motors updated or replaced with Neu-style motors eventually. I was told once that they are working on a killer 1/10 motor that has some tricks to make it good for 100k rpm.
The new "mini monster" is supposed to be sweet... I didn't see it run or get all the details, but I did see it in a car and that was over 2 months ago. I wish I had paid more attention and asked more about it but I was preoccupied with too many things... |

That would be nice because I have stopped using Castle's motors entirely because I play hard and can't control the heat issues with their motors - both 1/10 scale and 1/18 scale.
|
Well if you check out rcgroups patrick said the newer cm36 rotor and bearings are now good for 100k.
They've also hinted at new motors for heli's a guess based off of / the same as the new neu MMM motor... |
It would be sweet if they released a full range of heli and mmm motors. I am thinking of getting a Trex 600 as it will use the same motor and batteries as my savage. Cheap motors good quality motors would be sweet.

In stock at tower hobbies now.

That has to be BS. The castle site doesn't even have any info.
