Blacked out FLM Rustler...
Well I guess I should post up some pics of my 99% complete Rustler... Just a few more little items left. This was my first real RC ever that I bought about 7-8 years ago. It was originally an XL-1 but there isn't much left on her thats stock. What do ya think?

Airtronics
RPM
BadHorsie
Still needed are Traxxas Big Bore Shocks, Power supply for the Hyperion 6010I Charger, and MaxAmps 3S 5000mah Lipo, and a servo saver. Once the electronics are mounted its ready to go... |
That is a mean looking rustler. Can't wait to see it done.
|
Yeah I've been talking to addicted2rc about putting a package together for me - they sell all the flm bits ano black. I think ill keep the plastic shock towers and arms though, every experience ive had with alloy suspension bits made me learn that they bend instead of flex. Plus im in oz so the flm cheap replacements wouldnt be all that cheap once you include shipping etc.

It's just so...EEEVILLLL! :diablo:
I like it. Great job dude. Especially on those CF inserts. :yipi: |

This one was anodized by my Father, at MRPaintin.com... Thanks guys!
|
It looks so mean, I like...
|
That thing is sweet... Where can we find the carbon plates?
|
Those were custom made by a guy for me, and I am not 100% sure if he wants to make more or not. But here are some more pics. I finally got around to painting up a shell for it.
Well here is one for me that actually means quite a bit. Its MR's 200th shell and half way through the painting process I realized yes, it the 200th shell, but for my 1st RC. Kinda scary how it worked out, but very cool too... Anyways on to the body... The graphics upfront start as classic flames outlined in a tiny pin striping of chrome. Underneath is some shadow work... The next layer is a tribal design of carbon fiber outlined in charcoal. And the main color of the shell is black. I kinda wanted to keep it simple for the sake of the build. Seeing as the Rustler is 99% black, with some CF. The flames upfront just add some needed color. |
Crazy... Now you need a black motor. (think Neu) and some black heat shrink over the wires and a MM with the heat sink annodized black.
Sick looking truck. Very nice job. |
The heat sink is glued on the ESC, and I am really not sure how well it would take the anodizing... But as for motor/esc combo goes, this one is done for now. I want the new E-Revo.
|
I just have to say this is the nicest Rustler I've seen... it's going to be a shame to see it sliding on it's roof with that Mamba setup powering it. If you find out if your friend is willing to make more of those carbon plates, will you let me know. I'd really like a set.

Stunning.
|
Looks amazing. I just hope it looks like that for a while. Black anodized aluminum shows nicks and scratches really easily. Truely the coolest rustler I have ever seen.
|
Wow.. Great looking rustler! Love the Black on black on black.
Great build.. |
