Need some advice...about prom.
Long story short I asked someone to prom, and they didn't give me an answer yet. I asked my bro about it and he said that she's waiting for someone else, and right now, its the only logical explanation. The weird thing is that we've gone out a couple times, and it was always positive signs and reactions.
My bro says I should retract my offer and not go with her even if she says yes, since I would then be second choice at that point. And who wants to be second choice? What do you guys think? I think some outside opinions would be quite helpful at this point. Its my senior prom so I really don't have a "next will be better" option. |
I agree with your bro. Sounds like she's waiting for another hopeful, and if he doesn't ask her, she'll go with her second best (you). But before you go retracting the offer, just ask her straight out if that is what she's doing - she might have other reasons that our simple male minds simply cannot comprehend.
I take it you have other options? |
I think the only person who can answer this question to a satisfactory standard would be the other person. Stuff talking to us go talk to them be as honest as possible, go in with a light hearted attitude and either way you will come out smiling cause you will have the answer.

Yes, best to confront her in a non-demanding manner about this. Just say that you will be going with someone (hopefully), and you would like to be able to get all of it sorted out now, rather than waiting. If she does not understand that she is most likely not worth your time. Sonds like she is waiting it out to see, possibly if anyone else would ask.
I asked my prom date very last minute, and ended up spending most of the time with another girl, go figure! Have a good time at prom, and hit up the after parties. I got to the after party a bit late, but it was a bunch of fun, seeing everyone drunk, and doing various other things! Pity that you do not live closer as I could set you up with a few chics (early twenties, and hot!) to go with, that would really piss your female classmates off. |
LOL lincpimp you just made my day with that comment. Guess you really live up to your name.
Early twenties haha...yeah I'm sure that would have pissed em off a lot (I think the guys would get jealous too). I like the idea of confronting her in a casual manner...cause this waiting is bull...:whip: Any more opinion welcome by the way. |
LMAO! Linc, your to much man! Hahahaha
BP, I could say something, but id be saying what has been said by everyone else, id do the same |

Anyway the casual confrontation is the best bet. Maybe she will be more agreeable if you put her on the spot. Some chics just can't make their minds up until it is necessary, so make it that way. You can always tell her that she will die cold and alone if she does not go with you, but that is kinda cruel. |
Yeah that "girl next door" movie is the way to do it... but on a serious note just ask her...

Awesome movie!

That movie is great, wish that I had a chic that looked like that next door while I was in high school. Not that it would have mattered, I was too busy making cool stuff out of legos!

Just ask her honestly and in a non confrontational way. Be adult about it, you can always make it up with grad night.
Oh the memories, went as friends. Hit it off with her best friend. Took best friend to grad night and what a night to remember.:intello: I'm sure your doing grad night @ Disney, I hope? |
