Good Servo's?

Hey,
I just got a Revo and converted it to brushless and I am running only running one Steering servo. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good powerful servo's.

Hitec HS-5955TG works awesome in my E-Revo.

I am an Airtronics guy when it comes to servos. You get what you pay for. Thing about servos is there is always one gear in the bottom that is plastic and meant to give. At least with Airtronics, you can buy a package of that small gear in quantity and not have to buy the whole gear kit... cheaper in the long run and you get a servo that doesn't flake out like many other brands.... sme things just aren't worth cheaping out on.... the 358 in my buggy has been in many rc's over the years and still works great. 358 torque, 357 speed... well I have a 359 in my buggy but that's a 358 with a heatsink casing...

Anyone ever use the Futuba S3306? Its a little slower, but its got 266 oz-in lbs at 4.6V.

airtronics rock crusher they have 2 versions. They have one slower one with tons of torque for a MT and one faster one with a little less torque for buggies and other samller vehicles.
You will notice from the specs that neither are exactly slow or weak powered.

More powerful slower - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLSX0&P=7
Faster less powerfull - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLSX1&P=7

The hitec 5997 seems to be a good servo for a buggy or a revo. I have a few of them. Only issue is that they are a bit noisy. The jr 9000t is a good servo, really comes alive at 6.5v. I have that in a revo, and it will turn the truck if you hold the front tires straight!!!

JThiessen 07.21.2008 01:31 PM

Looks as though the 5997 has been discontinued (although there are many that are very similar to it).
I also found this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTCX9&P=9
The specs look really good on it, and the price is decent - but I for one havent heard of anyone that runs Associated servos.....

One other item that I am uncertain about. I run the DX3 radio system - do I need to be at all concerned about the compatibility of these?

Yep, the 5955 works well; just got one a week or two ago.

Buy your 5955TG at Servocity.com. They are cheaper than Tower or Amain.

I run an Airtronics in my 1/8 buggy...200oz. torque, and love it. I just bought a 333 oz JR to run in my Maxx conversion..
